I've honestly been feeling dread at getting on OBNUG these days. It used to be fun. It used to be supportive. Now, the enemies within our ranks make it almost unbearable to read any Boise State news without feeling annoyed. It makes it very difficult for me to be positive. After all, when your glass is only half full, you've got to conserve what you have. But I’m gaining hope because of a sudden epiphany.

There’s an old African proverb: “when there is no enemy within, the enemies outside cannot hurt you.” I read this and I had an epiphany. What if the enemy is just pretending to be within? What if the enemy is…let’s just say…a vandal fan trying to stir up as much angst as possible so that he/she can stand back and watch Boise State fandom implode, all the while laughing.

I was listening to KTIK the other day when Caves read a negative instant message. It was some crap about Coach Pete should be getting more heat because he’s so overpaid and not performing up to that pay scale. He claimed to be a BSU fan, but for once, Prater got it right. When Caves finished reading the message, Prater said, “I think that fan wears more Silver and Gold than Blue and Orange.”

Then I read this comment on one of Cripe’s articles from one calling himself BGBS. “I think the fans forgot that Boise State is not about ‘fine’ or ‘it will get better,’ but about perfection and high expectations. This passive attitude will not work and is not fine. Something needs to change, not next year, but this year. This is getting embarrassing.”

It dawned on me that these guys are just posers. They’re just doing whatever they can to stir up the dirt pretending to be Boise State fans. So…this comment and others like it are my nomination for stupid quote of the week. By the way…I know we’re struggling, but how is 3-1 embarrassing? And I thought Southwick managed the game very Zabransky -like. We saw a brilliance in the offense, and the youth of the defense finally showed up. It was actually very telling…we’ll be fine.

Watch out fellow NUGGIES, I smell rats and by the looks of the little silver and gold pellets all over the place, it’s got to be those damn vandals again. Can’t we just convince them that Vandalism is wrong. When will they ever grow up? Damn vermin.
