Wake up, Bronco Nation: Boise State football links and things, 1-9-12

Brent Pease tells Statesman he has not decide to leave Boise State but is checking his options

This after Pease was reported to be leaving Boise and on his way to Florida to become their new offensive coordinator this past weekend. He was reportedly in Gainsville on Friday interviewing for the position. He is also reportedly waiting until after the BCS Championship game tonight to meet with Alabama about becoming their new offensive coordinator so Pease could just be stalling cause he hasn't officially accepted an offer yet.

Robert Prince could be in line to become new offensive coordinator

Prince who had previously been the wide receivers coach for Boise State from 2001 to 2003, rejoined the staff last year after the Harsin departure. The year before he had been the wide receivers coach at Colorado under Dan Hawkins after spending 6 years in the NFL as an offensive assistant with the Falcons, Jaguars and then Seahawks. Boise State has always had success with promoting within and I'm sure Petersen and Prince can work together to keep the offensive juggernaut rolling.

Kyle Brotzman has become a spokesperson for downtrodden kickers everywhere

Brotzman spoke to Pete Thamel of the New York Times about his experience with missing crucial kicks and tried to reach out to Alabama kicker Cade Foster after Alabama's loss to LSU earlier in the season. Recently, Brotzman has tried to reach out to Stanford kicker Jordan Williamson who missed a potentially game winning field goal in the Fiesta Bowl. I have to say that this outcome for Brotzman is the best timeline.

Doug Martin and Billy Winn receive combine invitations

Well things appear to be coming along swimmingly. This puts the Boise State combine invitation list at 6. That already included Kellen Moore, George Iloka, Shea McClellin and Nate Potter. Still waiting for invites for Chase Baker, Tyrone Crawford and Kyle Efaw though. Come on, NFL!

Listen People....

If anyone watches that BCS Championship thing. Those same people should not be complaining about it in the future. Cause you watching it, is you supporting it. And I still can’t believe most of you guys watched any of the BCS games. When you keep complaining about it. Pretty Pathedic if you ask me. Serious.

someone came in guns blazing this morning.

i can’t watch and wouldn’t even if i wanted to. didn’t even see it the first time out. on totally uneducated, blind guess, i’ll say it’s the worst rated bcs championship game in the last six years.

i doubt i’m right though.

My QB has an AWARD named after him. How about yours?!

"Pretty Pathedic"

Agreed.

I agree with your choice not to watch

I haven’t seen a single BCS Bowl this season and will not be watching the game tonight.

kcam, the recidivist here...

I confess, I watched the Rose and the Fiesta. (I know! I’m a weak “pathedic” man. Actually, Mrs. kcam insisted we watch the two.) BUT…I’m not watching “Satan vs. The Ruminant” tonight. (Does Les really have four stomachs?) The season hath endeth for me.

Negotiator, negotiator, pockets full 'o cash

This is now about wringing as much yuan as possible out of an SEC employer. This is what the press is for… negotiating in public.

Softball Practice tonight

Helping my daughter’s team and happy to have something to do instead of wasting 3 hours on the SEC’s first loss in an NC game in 6 years.

Too many good news football stories to worry about the BCS and their stupidity. Thank you NFL Bronco’s, NIU Huskies, North Dakota State Bison…and all the boys from the Blue who are going to the Senior Bowl, East West Shrine, Combine, etc.

I like your take on it.

Couldn't agree more...

NDSU winning the FCS national championship was awesome! I used to live in North Dakota and NDSU to folks out there is like Boise State to us… every kid’s dream to go there and play there when they grow up. A majority of my friends I went to elementary school with attended college there and loved it. I was pulling for them from the beginning of the playoffs… first national championship for them, ever!

I’m doing my fingernails, listening to John Prine sing about staring down his oatmeal, and enjoying it.

Rent the Movie Titanic Tonight as BCS Holiday Special (A break from BCS Shenanigans)

The plot: A ship sails you know its going to sink. A couple gets it on below the decks. The couple stands on the Bow with a lot music playing when you know its going to sink. The Titanic sinks anyways. Music plays. The SEC watches it over and over again until somebody mercifully Lobotomizes the SEC. Now the world is safe once more from sinking ships. What really sank was the BCS!

Buy everyone a round …you are generous (but where do you find such inexpensive booze?)

I have a bottle of Wild Turkey with a red ribbon set aside for the first playoff game, even if, heaven forbid, we are not in it.
