Another commit?
The Register-Guard is reporting that Sam McCaskill, a 6'4" 235 lb. DE/OLB from Sheldon High School (Eugene, OR) has committed to the Broncos. Interestingly, his Scout.com profile lists his 40 time as "300", which I hope refers to milliseconds. McCaskill would be either the 3rd DE in this year's recruiting class alongside Darien Barrett and DeMarcus Lawrence, or he could be the 3rd OLB alongside Chris Santini and Chris Collins.

That’s 11. There are others who have made noises in that direction, but no “I do’s.” I strongly suspect that there might even be twice that number who actually show up, including those who are reluctant to say so publicly. (If I missed any commits, I apologize, so please sound off.)
However, it’s an old rule of the house that you don’t hold the curtain beyond the starting time for those supernumeraries. We need nine seats, and will hold two for our stated “maybes.” Beyond that, it’s going to be potluck.

It was on his highlight video I had posted. Not quite the 4.6 speed posted by Demarcus Lawrence. I could see him playing OLB, though it will be interesting to see who would play as a true frosh and who redshirts/greyshirts.
Lawrence is a juco commit right?
I would think that shaving 1 or 2 tenths off your 40 time in 2 years is possible , especially with the more intense conditioning.

that was weird...
instead of showing the content to my post it just showed the title twice…. what it was suppose to say is basically I don’t think it is too far fetched to think it is possible for a guy like this to shave 1 or 2 tenths off of his 40 time. Especially with the more intense strength and conditioning training.

He is now up to 240, which is just about where he would need to be at DE, at least to play as a DE/LB hybrid as Shea did. I dont think it is out of the realm of possibility for him to shave time off, especially getting into Socha’s training regime. I’m super stoked for this class and the Spring Game!

The whole Barrett thing..
.. could be like the Jack Fields fiasco. Scout.com reported his commitment, then an hour later they said they had reported it too soon and the HS coach wouldn’t confirm. Turns out, he was always committed but had planned a big party to announce his decision and Scouts.com had ruined the surprise.

Really cool story on Sam this morning
I found this on Rivals. They have him slated to basically play the same role as McClellin; a DE/LB hybrid. He will need to gain at least 15, but I think he has the frame for it. Cool Story regardless.
