First and Foremost; Does anyone have an internet link LoL?
Secondly, since we don't have one up already, and many of us may not be able to watch it on TV right now but are VERY INTERESTED in how our former Broncos do, I figured I'd start an Open Thread for the game.
Treat it like any other Gameday Comment thread and let's hope the best for our guys and cheer them on as we see them perform for their final time at the collegiate level. Go Broncos!

McClellin seems to be playing really well right now! I won’t claim to be an expert…I never played football. But he’s got a tackle or two already. He is line up at MLB and kind of lining up as a DT on the line.
No one else has gotten in yet…

Yeah, I know several Cowboys fans are excited about McClellin. They went nuts when I told them he's been a DE his whole career and is ad-libbing at the LB'er spot

He passed what should have been about a 20 yard post route TD pass to Iowa WR Marvin McNutt. \
But McNutt straight dropped it, even the announcers put ALL the blame on McNutt saying that was an excellent pass from Kellen.
Then Kellen through the same route to another WR and it happened AGAIN…WR dropped a beutifully thrown pass that split the corner and safety and hit the WR right in the gut in the endzone.

Kellen didn’t throw 2 tds, he had 2 perfect passes in between a corner and a safety, from the 20 that hit the receivers in the hands on the goaline that they just dropped.
So... Wisconsin QB gets Whole 1st Qtr
And Kellen get little pass protection, two dropped passes and pulled before the half ends.

yeah that pissed me off. I think Wilson called his own number on a second consecutive naked bootleg inside the 5 to get his TD also.
Doug got next to nothing while Wilson was glory seeking. Kellen and Cousins get next to nothing themselves. I hope they get rotations in the second half too. I think those three are the entire depth chart on QB play.

yeah, that's a pretty ridiculously ignorant statement.
Arm Strength has so little to do with distance. It has to do with zip to the 15 yard out patterns or the ability to thread the needle between a rapidly closing window between safety and corner at 15-20 yards.
I felt Kellen showed adequate arm strength on his 20 yd. would-be TD strikes between safety and CB. I think that, along with his game film against premier teams, shows he has enough arm strength for NFL speed and athleticism at least. At least I hope I’m interpretting it right.

Those of us who are watching aren't watching because we want to see a good football game
We are interested in how our former players perform in a game that has a lot to do with where they get drafted. I have a pro team I root for as well. I’m very interested to see how Kellen, Shea, Doug, Billy, George, and Tyrone do. And I need to see it in game because stats won’t tell the whole story. Kellen’s stat line looks awful right now but he has actually had several good plays.

I think you're out of touch with what our interest is.
I’m not complaining, I’m evaluating. I think we’ve done well and am excited for the NFL draft, especially for Boise St. players.
I do not like basketball, I’m watching the Senior Bowl instead. There’s nothing wrong with that.

i’ve been in boise for all of a year and a half, it’s hard to attend a basketball game when I’m in tennessee wouldn’t you think?
Also, I’m sure i’ve been to more basketball games in the year and a half i’ve been here than A LOT of people in Boise. Heck, probably even A LOT of students who have been here longer. It’s rather pathetic and the fact that people fail to realize it amazes me.

I don’t know if his stat line will eclipse Wilson’s (though it might) but when I look at Kellen I see a better commander than I do in Wilson, who is just a good athlete who’s into himself a lot

Kellen finishes 6/12 for 50 yds, had better game than that line shows.
Doug had a good day doing a little of everything; pass protect, downfield blocking, route running, and ofc runs. 4 runs for 19 yds.
Shea McClellin improved his draft stock with a very good day imo.
Billy and Tyrone held their own on the lines but nothing really spectacular.
George did a little bit of what he did at BSU; amazing physical stats, tendency to disappear a lot. He had nothing real noticeable. His penchant for being an outstanding tackler should get him on a roster but I’m a little concerned with his instincts and leadership ability. We’ll see.
Combine and Pro Day will be the next test. Thanks for joining in all.

what you like is your business. No one made fun of the fact you like basketball.
By the same token, you were out of line to come on here and purposely try to get under people’s skin for what they like. That is the expression of an adolescent mind that wants to be right and nothing more than that. I have had to deal with the same kind of stuff with my 19 yr old brother and I’m sure I was the same way when I was young. Hopefully you’ll grow out of it too but that’s in your hands.

the game is useless
that’s why I was giving people hell about watching it. just like I give ppl hell for watching the pro bowl, or the nba all star game. it’s a useless “showcase” that’s even less of a showcase at the college level. It’s more of a glorified practice with mediocre performances.

Isnt my job, but it definitely isn’t necessary to personally attack those people either. Hopefully at some point you mature a bit while you are in Boise.
if the game is useless why does every one of the NFL's 32 teams have a scouting group there and two entire NFL coaching staffs are working the game?
It’s not useless, it has a valid point to it. Those of us who follow the NFL and are interested in who our teams could pick up in the 3-5th rounds have plenty of reason to watch this game.
The Senior Bowl has, for years now, been a major factor for what are called Bubble Players. Just about every player coming out for Boise St. is a Bubble Player at this stage. This is the first Senior Bowl I have watched in ten years and it si b/c I hope Dallas gets a shot at a few BSU players while also wanting to see how Ingram and Upshaw perform.
You say it’s meaningless, I say basketball is meaningless. They are both opinions, not statements of fact.

The game is useless it has the capability of getting our alums drafted and show what bsu players can do against the best in college. How is that useless?

Was anyone else disappointed
With the amount of time Doug was in? People pointed out that he had zero carries in the first half, but he was also hardly in the second half! Quite frustrating!
Doug is going to work his way into the first or second round by the time the draft comes around. His ability is too obvious

You came in hear and accused everyone of wasting their time watching the Senior Bowl rather than being at the basketball game.
Then you insinuated that if we don’t actively participate in the rooting of other sports, regardless of our own interests or disinterests in those sports, we are bad fans.
When we called you out for outrageous accusations you decided that Bronco Nation needs to get over itself. Wow, there is nothing that happened on this thread tonight that doesn’t happen with every other fanbase out there. Being solely interested in all aspects of one sport, while having very little active interest in other sports, is not a foreign concept in any college fanbase in America.
Did you know there are some schools who have no football team and some schools that have no baseball team? Does that make them less than other schools or make their fans less than other fanbases? Your entire accusation is based on an opinion. That, in and of itself, is what does NOT make it a fact. You have an opinion, that is all, you’re welcome to it. Your dedication and commitment to BSU goes above and beyond that of most people, but I feel like you’re out of line here. You say the Senior Bowl is meaningless. While it is just an exhibition game, try telling the 5 Broncos that played in the game that it’s meaningless. They are trying to make a good impression on NFL teams, and every chance they have to do that counts. Try telling we fans who may never see any of these guys play football again (perish the thought) that this opportunity to see them play is meaningless. Again, I know the b-ball team means a lot to you, but please ease up on those of us who want to watch football instead.

but I’ll reiterate… this is “One Bronco Nation Under God – the online voice of Boise State FOOTBALL fans”
I’m not a BSU Student, I don’t believe pjohn is either, and I’m pretty sure SeniorChief isn’t currently attending classes either. My point is, we’re fans of the Football program! Yes, I support the University as a whole, all the way down to the wrestling team, but I primarily watch the football team. That’s what this blog is about, football. Yes we have the occasional tidbit about the basketball team, but let’s be honest, outside of Boise, who knows we even have a basketball team? Don’t attack fellow fans for having a preference. That’s like football fans attacking soccer fans for watching soccer instead of football. Who cares? Yes, it’s a blog and you’re welcome to your opinion, but there’s a limit. We’re not on BleacherReport here. We’re all here because we have a common interest, sorry I didn’t go to the basketball game, I wanted to watch the Senior Bowl to see how our players did, because it does have an impact on their draft stock, and I’d like to see them all go on and do well in the NFL. I apologize for my snappy attack and ban suggestion, but in my mind you crossed the line. You made your point and then some, and you wouldn’t let it go. Fighting over the internet is a joke, and even if these guys let you “win”, where does that get you? Nowhere. Get over it and move on.

Though he should have. But I still think he had a pretty good showing. Doug, with the little time he had, showed he was a beast. Ad McClellin was all over the field. Winn def put some pressure on the qbs, and I think they were just avoiding George’s area lol.

Yeah, once he started getting nailed to the wall on things like logic and general social interaction tendencies
the responses he gave seemed more and more like ramblings of his own opinions. He would dodge direct questions that were the overall point of the comments concerning his behavior and stance on things while offering insights on how he felt about the ambiguous support details or examples used to reinforce the overall intent of the comment instead.
At times it seemed like trying to explain a subtle part of American culture to a guy born and raised in the country of Georgia and who had never been to the States. it was weird, like the most obvious things about fanbases and sports fans in general alluded him. His attempts to grasp what we were talking about while trying to shed light on the ‘truth’ were about as adept as JaMarcus Russell try to complete a 35 yard seam route between double coverage.
I heard a good phrase one time that I am pretty terrible at following myself; never argue with an idiot, he’ll drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

I criticize their attempts at getting students
to go to games is because it’s 1 game a year. maybe 2. My point is simply that students need to WANT to go EVERY time. NOT just when there is free food. My response wasn’t directed literally towards BSUbluNorange and criticizing him for caring about basketball. It should be pretty obvious.

Even duke is having issues getting students to games this tpyear and BYU had more students at the utah jazz vs jimmer and the kings game the other night,than at their own game vs. st marys. Look friendless, worry about what you can control. You can’t control how many fans or students show up (unless you have deep pockets and want to sponsor the corral, provide pizza every night) so worry about yourself.

Over and out...
Always wanted to say that on the radio…but never did. Maybe it was a WW2 thing. Anyway, three biggest impressions from the game were that
1. Frazier really wanted to win and he put Kellen Moore in to do just that – snuffed out the South rally by using more than half the 4th quarter.
2. The guys really took advantage of their opportunity to shine
3. Once again, Mike Moyock’s preconceived opinions were snuffed out by seeing with good performances with his own biased eyes. When Kellen threw the first dart dropped TD pass, he seemed surprised. Then he did it again…then he was clearly the most together QB on the field. The guy is another ESPN tool, and it will really be something when once again, his draft estimates turn out wrong. Maybe he should get his info from the scouts, instead of thinking he is the source of all knowledge.
It was cool to see a WAC player (Wagner from Utah State) and a whole bunch of Broncos help take it to the South, the presumptive winners cuz they were loaded with EEEESSSSSEEEEECCCCCEEEE!!!! types. Ooops.
My studies indicate that Alabama has 216 participants over the years.
Penn St had half that and everybody else half of that. So its obviously an Alabama thing, and we rained ORANGE & BLUE on Mobile. Oh my.

Just like at the basketball game. other people were amazed at the lack of students. really? why? there was no scheduled dance.. no free food. no free soda. of course they aren’t going to go. THAT’S THE PROBLEM! 4k in attendance today. that’s AWFUL. I’d say the same for any school, unless their arena only held 4 or 5k.

It is funny, because I agree with his disappointment of lack of fan attendance, but to slam others for their enthusiasm for the Seniors trying to catch the interest of NFL teams is backazzwards. Something is bothering the young man, and it isn’t just a few bloggers.

This comment is a reasonable complaint and one plenty of people here would empathize with you on.
You are correct, Basketball hasn’t picked up yet at this school and it’s evident in the fan attendance. I think Coach Rice will get that turned around. I have heard more about BSU basketball this year than ever before and I don’t pay attention to basketball. Everyone starts somewhere. I doubt we’re the only fanbase that is dominated by attention towards the football program and that’s the part of what I was trying to illustrate in other comments earlier. I wonder how much Hawaii or Florida International talk about their basketball programs. How much a percentage of Syracuse’s fanbase plays close attention to their football program, and that’s a long standing school with a great history in both games. The knife cuts both ways.
Where I believe you went wrong is you came to a football blog site and blasted everyone for watching a football game rather than attend the basketball game. Looking at the points you are trying to drive home now, I think that was just a frustrated reactionary comment you made not aimed at us in particular but more as a venting. Regardless, you aimed all your frustration at us and we are not basketball fans, we are football fans. Most of us aren’t students, we’re middle aged guys who like what this program stands for and like this town and like football.
You took all that angst and fired every gun you had into our faces and it was not well explained, it was very much directed at us personally, and it was childish and poorly expressed. Every fanbase in America has a bunch of fans that follow one or two sports. That is not uncommon at all, for you to try and say it is and call that a fact is not even close to a defensible stance. We’re the wrong audience for your very valid points and complaints here. Most of us like football and have no interest in basketball beyond wishing the program success. I can’t even break down all the rules of basketball for you much less the differences between zone and man defense and how to implement them. Furthermore, I have no interest in learning. You might as well tell me I’m a bad fan because I refuse to follow Rugby, or badminton, or Competitive Rowing. I, and many of the people here, are the wrong people to be addressing and certainly not blaming with the aggressive and unwarranted tones you were using. That was ridiculous.
Lastly, I’d recommend some patience. Programs take a long time to build. You could be one of the guys that really gets the ball rolling for BSU basketball but it will take a far more positive approach than you have shown here to sway your peers and fellow students. Leadership finds reasons for future improvements, not reasons for current failure. Know your audience, frame your points in a more cohesive manner, control emotional outbursts, have a positive outlook when speaking with others about problems you’ve noticed.

did i say that having fans that only like 1 maybe 2 sports was limited to BSU and uncommon? I know plenty of people who go to schools and love that schools football team, but like duke or unc basketball, BUT they still LOVE their school too! AND they support their school. They don’t just say, “screw it” and totally ignore them and abandon them, simply because they don’t like it. I don’t like terrible movies but that doesn’t mean i’ve never seen them.

But they still love their school too...
A) BSU is not my school
B) I do hope the Basketball team does as well as possible
C) I am not wrong for watching the Senior Bowl rather than attending a game about a sport I don’t know very well or care to know.
D) Not attending a basketball game, given the above statements, is not a lack of support. You know who needs to be attending basketball games…basketball fans.
E) You just got done saying your major problem was the student section. The vast majority of us are not students.
So maybe you should restate your complaint because my complaint against you is that you came on here and told us we were lousy fans because we were watching the Senior Bowl, a game you deemed useless, while the basketball game suffered low attendance, a game those of us on here hold little actual interest in. This infers that we have a responsibility to attend the basketball games simply because they wear BSU jerseys. Is it not enough to wish them luck? How many of the basketball fans that showed up tonight will be attending every competitive sport BSU maintains? Secondly, that you later narrowed your complaint down form a general lack of attendance to the student section specifically and continued to blast us, non students mostly, as fans.
I think you’re so off base in your thinking that it would take a guy with a degree in psychology to unravel all of it. I’m not qualified for that. Under that kind of logic Jack Daniels should definitely set up a multi-million dollar ad campaign targeted at the Mormon population, Nike should start marketing their shoes to fishermen as replacements for waders, and the NBA should definitely start refocusing their ticket sales towards NFL season ticket holder demographic. May I offer a suggestion?
Read Dale Carnegie’s “How to Win Friends and Influence People”. It would really do you a lot of good! In it you’ll learn:
To NEVER criticize people…EVER! It doesn’t work, and never will, if you are trying to persuade people to your way of thinking.
People are concerned about what they want. Not what other people want, unless there is something in it for them. That’s just how we are.
So in order to persuade someone to your way of thinking you have to get what they want in line with what you want.
And the best way to approach someone is by learning about them, and their wants, dreams and desires. Not about telling them what it is you are interested…because nobody really cares. If you can show people that you are genuinely interested in them, then they will be your friend forever.
If you can learn these things, and others that Mr. Carnegie teaches, people will like you when you speak, they will respond appropriately to what you are saying, and you may just get the attendance up at the basketball games, and increase the overall support of the fanbase. How exciting would that be?!!

Clearly you’re not reading what he has to say. He doesn’t enjoy the sport of Basketball period. He doesn’t watch it in any fashion, college or NBA. He doesn’t care to watch it, or learn about the game. He wished the basketball team luck, but he only watches the football team because he likes the sport of football. That’s the furthest thing from a fair weather fan. A fair weather fan is someone who only roots for a specific team when they do well, but criticizes them or turns to rooting for another team when said team does poorly. That’s not pjohn at all, he’s a Cowboys fan (no offense pjohn) and has been for a long time. When’s the last time they had a really good season? It’s been a while right. He’s still stuck by them, just like I’m sure he’ll do if for some reason BSU ever has a bad stint, whether it be a season or a decade, he’ll still support them.
Yes, fan attendance at basketball games is poor. In case you haven’t noticed our basketball team hasn’t been that great as of late, aside from maybe the last season or two. There has always been an attendance issue for basketball games since my mother in law attended BSU back in the late 80s. Support will continue to grow as the team does well I’m sure, but it’s the same thing you see anywhere else. How’s the fan attendance at a Duke football game? How is it compared to a Duke basketball game? There is no comparison there, and it’s not because the fans and students don’t support their school as a whole, it’s because the basketball team is where they hang their hat, like us with our football team.
Maybe you should direct your motives towards the student body, try to get them excited and into BSU basketball, and other sports as well. I’ll be the first to agree with you that it takes more than just free tickets to a game to get most students to show up to a BSU sporting event, football included, and those who do show up typically leave early. Do something about that, talk to your classmates, your friends, your neighbors. Make a push to get fan attendance up. I’m all for that, like I’ve said, I’m not a BSU student but I support the University as a whole, I’m just not a huge basketball fan. The thing not to do is to come onto a football blog and attack the fans, stereotyping them when you know next to nothing about them. Sorry we didn’t make the basketball game, did you make it to the wrestling match? Or gymnastics tournament? The tennis match? Or even the last home football game? If you can say yes to all of those and then some, then you may just be a better fan that some of us, but if not then I’m sure you had your reasons why you didn’t as well. I’m done here, and if I didn’t help to open your eyes, even just a little bit, then whatever, I give up, have a nice day and enjoy your basketball.

1. Tennesee has been a University since 1794, Boise State since 1932… thats 138 years longer, aka almost 3 times as long.
2. Their student population last fall was approximately 30,000, Boise State’s wasn’t even 20,000, that’s 1.5 times as many students.
3. The population of Knoxville and the metro area surrounding it is approximately 1.03 million people, Boise and the surrounding metro area, a mere 600k. That’s twice the population.
4. Their football stadium has a record capacity of just shy of 110k, Boise State’s, just over 34k. Their basketball stadium can hold over 25k fans, whereas Taco Bell arena can only hold 12.5k.
See, if you wanna get technical, the University of Tennessee has been around nearly 3 times as long, has 1.5 times the student population, and their stadiums can hold 2 and 3 times as many fans as ours… Add to that the fact that they play in the SEC so all of their opponents have much less of a distance to travel, than say ours in the MWC or WAC, bringing a lot more of their own fans to games as well. You’re argument is pointless, we can’t put up the kind of numbers than Tennessee can, and we don’t care. Anyone who does cares more about other things besides the teams themselves and how they do.

I like football because I like football. I don’t follow any other sport. I don’t follow basketball, baseball, tennis, bowling, NASCAR, or Formula One. I follow football. I’ve been a fan of the Dallas Cowboys since I was 3 and they suck right now. I grew up in Florida as a Florida St. Seminoles fan, a team with one of the best looking uniforms and coolest opening game traditions in all of college football and who set the gold standard for program excellence in CFB with a record 14 seasons finishing in the Top 5. Now I root for the team of the city I live in, one that is all but locked out of the biggest and best bowls for no other reason than they are on the outside looking in and a threat to the balance of power.
Keep it dude, if that’s the answer you came up with then I have nothing else to say to you. I have no way of further explaining myself, or trying to work with you to understand what happened here and why, because you lack the basic contextual, analytic, and comprehension skills to interpret basic communication. I’m blown away, I can honestly say I have only seen this level of ineptness in the learning disabled category. You’re in college so I’d assume you don’t fit into that which is what baffles me.

I’m glad I didn’t jump in this conversation. According to nofriendzz, I am the worst fan of all in Bronco Nation. There are reasons why I come to this site. One of them is, it fits my style. Almost to a T. It’s mostly about football with small tidbits of info about the other sports. If you want ALL Bronco sports, go to BroncoCountry.
I will say thank you to all the comments about the game. Seeing as I don’t have cable or satellite, I wasn’t able to watch the game. And if I just looked at the stats, it would have told me a different story. And if I watched the local news, it would have been all about the south team.
Which brings up another thing I want to talk about. Nofriendzz, go ahead and drop the Boise flag. I will be right behind you to pick it up and tell all the Tennesseans how great Boise is. Boise does have flaws, and I point those out too, but the Southern schools have flaws too. I point them out all the time to my inlaws and it usually shuts them up.

Well
I ask because I was wondering what everyone thought about the football players performance in the pool at their special appearance.
It was great.
They had fun, pumped up the volume for the swimmers and divers and I expect to see even more of this type of cross support under new AD Coyle. We enjoy watching the swim team, soccer teams, softball teams, gymnastics and basketball, both mens and womens. We stayed home to watch the senior bowl because half the family has the flu.

It’s good for BSU too to have more than one major sport we’re good at. That’s something we get nailed for on a consistent basis and until we build that Bball program up it’ll be the same accusation regardless of how good other programs (like wrestling) are.

He’s still a BSU fan and I believe that in time he will develop those skills. He just needs some space to step away from it all right now and gain some perspective. That makes no sense. People who are fans of those sports need to do that.
It is ridiculous to demand people who hold no interest in those sports to support them beyond hoping they do well. To actually show up at the game. I think you should support the nation you were born in but I don’t demand you take a tour in Afghanistan to do that.
It’s a dumb demand that has no regard for the natural way that things work. None of these sports would exist if there weren’t people who liked them, that’s what got them started in the first place. Go find the people who like basketball, can afford to make the games, and are just too lazy to show up and chew them out. Don’t chew out people who have no interest in that game and are watching the game they are interested in with players from this school that have something on the line.

It’s not like I’ve never watched Basketball before. I was a few years younger than you are now, living near Orlando, when the Magic became a franchise. I was stationed in San Antonio when David Robinson and Tim Duncan won the NBA title. I work with guys that are big basketball fans and take their kids to the BSU games when they can. I’ve watched it, followed it, gone to games before. I know it’s not for me, it’s not a sport I really get into.
Your entire adolescent diatribe that took place here is based on a lot of assumptions, not the least of which is that people would like basketball if they would just give it a chance. That’s simply not true. Some people do not like the sport and their’s nothing wrong with that. Others like it but can’t afford to go. Still others may not feel one way or the other but they have so much of their time tied up into two jobs, a wife, and 3 kids that need food on the table and time with their Dad that there’s no space for it.
I don’t like basketball, it’s not from lack of exposure or giving it an honest shot. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. But there is something wrong with you expecting me, and others, to fit that into our lives just because the sky is blue or something crazy like that. Furthermore, you were genuinely upset that we would choose to watch the Senior Bowl over attending a game we have no interest in. I’m telling you dude, wrong audience. You need to find the right audience and then have at it. You have conviction, you have staying power, you might be able to change some minds if you will simply realize you’re talking to the wrong group and identify where you can find the right group.

Oh, I know it is tempting, but I disagree.
The young man is beyond irritating and he’s hogging bandwidth, but he is not offensive.
Offensive shocks culture and debases humans, imo. And that is worth the banhammer.
Being bullheaded, obnoxious, drunk, ignorant, annoying….that is not worth the banhammer, because that stifles debate…even if there is no debate going on, on this thread at this time.

What’s more offensive? Well, the n word, for one. The f bomb is a callous, dirty word, but it isn’t gender/race specific. When folks use the D word, to me, that is derogatory to women. All of us, not just a slur against the person to whom it is directed. It is misogynistic. Even the base word—gyn— goes directly to women and makes no exceptions.
The f-bomb is fairly universal. As an all-purpose adjective, it has lost its power,(but it certainly isn’t a word we want to explain to precocious kindergartners). The n word and d word are demeaning, as are all the other easy slights i.e. “panties in a twist/Girlsie State” in that they “relegate” the receiver to the apparently lowly status of either blacks or female. Whether I, you, or nofriendz is black/white/male/female, is of no consequence. It is the culture that allows those words to become defamatory that is sick, in the true meaning of sick. Similar to the slurs used by homophobics, the supposed exhaltation of the user is non-existent, except in the user’s narrow mean world. You asked, and I have given you more than you asked for. I honestly hope I have not offended…I do not want to be “offensive”.
And now you can see why, when even some of my favorite posters resort to calling someone a “d”, that I am so disappointed in them. It is not their vocabulary that is lacking, but their humanity. There is nothing wrong with being female, nothing wrong with being black, nothing wrong with being human. So why are those of us who are in those categories acceptable slurs?

You have posted many worthwhile comments in the past. Please don’t ask me to pull them all up. But something is up with you yesterday and today…frustration, cabin-fever, whatever…and you seem to be lashing out. That is understandable, but not so much with this blog. “Friendly, with or without Family” seems to be the key, and this thread hasn’t been.
As I said, I don’t want the banhammer, I want rational discussion. (huh! not that I am always rational, but oddly, I do try.)
I would be willing to bet dollars that you would be welcome to post again, anytime you wanted. Probably temperance/tolerance would be a welcome addition, on everyone’s part.

Yesterday when I sat down to watch the senior bowl I pulled up OBNUG on my phone
I looked at the main page and the Fanshots and didn’t see anything then got distracted by my baby crying and didn’t think to look at the Fanposts… I had to go to the store so I paused the game. I found this post after the game was over and was totally bummed because I wanted to discuss the last time I would be able to see 5 of our guys wearing (at least a little) Bronco blue… Guys that I have followed for 4 years because they play a sport that I am interested in and love. Now that I have read this I am so happy I didn’t find it.
I am not a fan of basketball… I played it when I was a kid… I have tried to watch it but it bores me. I have been to a few BSU BB games I had plans to go to the Indiana State game but that was the day my son was born so I couldnt quite make it…. I’m not a fan but I still like to see them do well. But when it comes to picking the basketball team over football I am going to pick anything BSU football hands down every time. I also support the institution and other sports… I like wrestling. We have a nationally ranked Pac-10 champ wrestling team… when they have a match the stands aren’t exactly packed… I don’t think all of the people that show up to football games are poor fans because they dont also go to wrestling matches… Why? Because people dont like wrestling… I understand that. I accept that.

I care not about any of the other sports none of my family/friends have played for Boise State sports other than football. I enjoy football and rather than seeing your diatribe about how we are horrible fans for not supporting the other sports perhaps you could enforce your will to attend other sports on your fellow students. I have a hard enough time convincing my wife to allow me to take off for a weekend just to attend a game of football. (She hates sports) I watch games and am a fan of what the Football team has accomplished. IHAVENOFRIENDS here’s what I don’t get you come on here to bash people openly knowing they are posting about the bronco players at the Senior Bowl, so it seems that your attempting to pick a fight. Here’s a thought next time make a fanshot/post and lay it out on the line their not here.

How bout that Senior Bowl folks? I enjoyed it, our guys didn’t blow the scouts out of the water but every single one of them received praise from the commentators throughout the game, and that’s enough recognition for me. I’m glad they did well and hope to see them all picked up in the draft. Best of luck to all of them, wherever they end up! Oh, P.S. – how bout this Pro Bowl? Ryan Clady representing! Haha wish the NFC would’ve won but honestly who cares, it’s just for fun… still entertaining to watch. Goodnight folks.

As I said before, valid complaint, wrong audience. This was the wrong venue.
On top of that, the comments were directed, at least initially, directly at a group of people that were watching the Senior Bowl for prioritizing that over the home basketball game.
The attack did not take into account the likes or dislikes of the people being assaulted. Throughout the duration of the assault, a common blame was laid at our feet for being lousy fans because we would not go to the basketball game. It took different forms, alternating between an indictment of all of Bronco Nation and individuals here who were watching and commenting on a football game. It even went so far as to accuse people of not liking basketball because they had never gone to a game, or given the sport or experience a chance.
The entire outburst was poorly founded, reactionary in nature, not well thought out, targeted at individuals posting comments WHILE watching the game, aimed at the wrong crowd, and generally antagonistic and provocative in nature. It was conducted in a pointlessly aggressive tone, made very little sense, interrupted an ongoing event, disrupted camaraderie during said event, and made baseless accusations towards a group of people that had no ties to the complaint being made.
In essence, Ihave was a real jerk who unleashed his nerdrage on the rest of us without cause, failed to grasp or address the underlying context of counter replies, and split hairs purely for the sake of aggravation while willfully seeking to antagonize and pick at the smallest of details when he couldn’t come up with a decent explanation.
This should have been a fanpost from the get go for him, not an interruption of an ongoing event, with subsequent tirade on why fans suck if they don’t fit his preconceived notion f who and what they should be.

Or did the offensive line for the North cave too easily more often than not? When watching Kellen struggle I got the impression that the offensive line was letting the defenders by way too quickly.
I thought that initially as well
but really I think Wilson’s mobility helped him a lot. Both Moore and Cousins were under quite a bit of pressure. Regarding specific linemen or sides I couldn’t say though. It’s possible Moore was simply the victim of a bad luck rotation that pit OL outmatched by guys like Coples and Ingram.

but I just couldn’t believe the defenders got there so quickly. Not saying it doesn’t happen but if you can’t hold off a guy for more than a couple of seconds it’s probably not going to end well for your QB. I concur that rotation had something to do with it.

Am I late to the Party again? – Kelln did good, His O receivers werent used to a counter clockwise spinning ball (lefty U know) and dropped perfect passes, and His O line on #90 (from the D) did very poorly. I felt Kellen looked productive for not having the proper players and system around him. Definitly furtherly improved his draft status I feel. WE NEED all Our soon to BE NFL players to be Drafted High Up so they can send BSU massive donations w/their Signing Bonuses $$$ !!

a simply awesome defensive line performance from the south that hurried our passers and shut our rb’s down. The South couldn’t get much going on with their offense and their passers looked outmatched from the beginning. I was surprised because there were some big names out there for them.

The SEC will probably start their own Senior bowl. They certainly don’t ever want players from the northwest showing their not unbeatable again. If only they didn’t have to dilute their ultra superior talent with the other “inferior” southern teams.
Hey I got! “In an all SEC perfect world”:
1. Pay off the right voters, and have top SEC teams ranked 1-12, at the start of the season.
2. Play only SEC teams & southern cupcakes during regular season.
3. Since, the only loss would occur against a 1-12 team, all SEC teams shall stay in top 12.
4. Abolish present BCS, and create a 5 major bowl + 1 system, that pits 3-12 against each other, and 1-2 in a “National”(haha) CG. All played in the Southeast.
5. Move the Heisman and all other award ceremonies, and all voters to Birmingham, Al.
6. Create Senior / “All American”(haha) bowl using only players from the top 12 teams.
