Cool! Smiles all around, on both sides of the picture.

Man, sometimes the revolving door of Goodbyes and Hellos that is College Football simply takes your breath away.
The long look back at what you’ve witnessed the past four years. The attempt to understand fully what these guys have done to establish this program against ridiculously stacked odds. The foggy projection of the short term future. The potential that remains stagnant until it is tested on the field of battle. The uncertainty and raw excitement of all that lies ahead.
Did you know that when I bring up BSU draftees like Kellen Moore (I express concerns on thsi site but nowhere outside the confines of OBNUG), Tyrone Crawford, Shea McClellin, George Illoka, and Doug Martin on my Dallas Cowboys blog that not only is it not met with laughter or complete ignorance of who those guys are, but it is met with genuine excitement and some understanding of who they are. Heck, in George and Shea’s cases, I didn’t even begin the conversations. OTHER PEOPLE spoke about these guys as draftees they would LOVE to see wearing the star in Big D. Folks, that is a massive breakthrough. You have Texas fans of pro football hoping against hope that some of our boys here FALL to them and they are LUCKY enough to grab even one of them.
This 50 win class may not have built the legacy bu themselves but they are the ones that made everyone else cognizant of what is going on up here. They’re the equivalent of the 101st Airborne, cutoff and surrounded in a little town called Bastogne, that faced tremendous odds and a certain death with guts, belief in themselves and their training, and a dogged determination to bow to no one….and they won the day.

Anyone have an internet link for the Senior Bowl?

Boys did well
Kellen had TWO touchdown passes in a row dropped, but did very well and made no mistakes, unlike every other QB in the game (picks/fumbled snaps, etc). He drove them down the field very nicely in the second half and then with a first and goal, they had him hand the ball off 3 straight times and they kicked a field goal. What a waste. He did take about 6 mins off the clock on a patented Kellen drive. He did a couple of key checks, looked off his receivers very well and was definitely, in this homer’s opinion, the best QB in the game.
Coulda used Matt, Shoe, etc on those two 20 yard seam TD passes, thrown perfectly.
Doug carried 3 times and looked good, made a tackle on a pick by QB Russel Wilson, ran a kickoff 26 yards and made the block that sprung WR Robinson into the end zone. He did not play the final 20 mins at least – guess they figured he was good to go :)
Shea made some plays and was always around the ball. He and George saved a TD after two other north DB’s missed a tackle. Kinda nice seeing two blue helmets together on a tackle.
The 4th quarter
Kellen rarely gets to play in the 4th but it was an 8:23 min drive he lead. Can’t believe they did not let him throw for a TD after his two perfect strikes were dropped in the 2nd Quarter. He never forced anything, checked off a couple times and one at least 3 plays he made 4 different checks. His maturity was evident – calm, cool and efficient. NFL like.
Doug is in, maybe even late first round. His versatility, work ethic, toughness and sheer ability (as well as constant Ray Rice comparisons) were on full display. I was frankly suprised how much our defenders played.
I agree completely
Kellen looked very mature, very steady, very in command out there. He made terrific reads and my fears about his arm strength at the NFL level have been reduced quite a bit.
I still feel he needs to prove himself against a veteran NFL secondary that has game planned him but I feel much better about that today than I did last week.

Love how well our boys played!
Love this pic of our boys…they look so happy! Very happy with how they played today. Seems like Shea got the most playing time… And just played awesome! Proud of all of em!! Can’t wait to see Kellen play in the All Star Game!!

Yes!
think I’ll go post some trivia on the fanpost to bring it back on the front page. I believe that is how it works.
