QEB Dismissed from the team
Coach Pete usually gives a couple of chances. I don't know if I want to find out what he did to get kicked off the team. Hopefully it will be good for him in the long run.

does this give us one more scholarship to offer?

I'm not sure
I didn’t think about that when I saw the news, mainly I was disappointed to see Que go.

I missed that opportunity.
The joke was just sitting there, waiting for it, and I let it get behind me.
I thought it was Makinde that got torched repeatedly on double moves?

Hope...
he gets it together and does better else where. Good Luck Burton.

He might be able to get his stuff together and come back.
Titus Young did.
It sounds like an acedemic thing to me.
Seems he struggled with that before. Do we know if he is gone for good, or is this just a “Wait till the next grades come out” thing?
One of the big stars on my son’s high school football team, got cut before the playoffs this year, over grades. That’s the way it should be.
If you ever wanted to see Boise St play...may be a good chance. Love em or Hate em, they are always interesting; and now, no matter where you live, "They're Coming To Your City"
I hope it is grades
But usually grades don’t elicit a dismissal from the team at Boise State, they are instead an indefinite suspension. Although Malcolm Johnson came back after a dismissal, he had to go to another college for a year in order to get back on the team. Hopefully we see QEB again.
Bummer
i was looking forward to him getting better. good luck to him in his future. wonder if he’ll try and go do a different school.

"did not live up to the standards of the program"
This pretty much says it. While it’s sad to see anyone not making the grade, Coach Pete is attempting to build young men, not just a winning team. Perhaps QEB will be able to draw on this experience to help him through life. Speaking from experience, it wasn’t until I received several very painful kicks in the butt that I began to grow into maturity.
Best of everything to him.

This really sucks :(
Q is my friend, and I’ve had a couple classes with him at BSU and run into him throughout the past couple years on a fairly regular basis. He’s a good guy, nice guy, so it sucks that he’s going out like this. I hope its something like academics, something that gives him a shot to get back on the team :-/

Rats, but then again, we have heard this before...
some step up and make it back, some don’t. Over to you QEB… Some pretty good players made it back and hopefully you can too. We are pulling for you.

i don't think anyone wants to see people fail in the classroom or in life.
Personally, I wouldn’t even laugh at a UI kid flunking out. regardless of the rival, etc., that kid most likely (read: won’t) be going pro in football so his education will have to be what provides a livelihood for him and his family. i may wish failure on them on the football field, but i don’t wish them to fail in the “real” world.

But I will make fun of UI for taking a WSU flunkee.
DeMaundray Woolridge couldn’t hack it at Wash St. Now, I’m all for second chances, whatever. And I think it’s cool that UI gave him a shot. But for UI people to say this whole thing is about “education” makes me eyeroll to the point where I’m almost looking at my brain. they want to think they’re the Harvard of the west, but lets face it: their admission standards are just as stringent as BSU’s. And apparently lower in the football program.

I'm all about piling on the UI admissions standards.
as much as they rail on BSU academics, i have no problem doing that. but what i see from their standards (act/sat and gpa) they are almost identical. I have heard in the past that BSU’s entrance standards are actually higher than UI’s, but i haven’t read or seen anything that proves that explicitly. do you have anything like that?

I'm not worried about it
there is plenty of new talent coming in and people who can adjust. I would be more upset if we lost the likes of Corey Bell or Hightower.

Shady Dismissal?
Sounds like the HC is playing roster management to make room for some other player. Unfortunately for the players, most coaches do this.
