Interesting tidbits from Day 1 of Senior Bowl

Our boys in Blue are working hard at the Senior Bowl. Here are some interesting notes from various sites including the weigh-in numbers.

Name Pos. Height Weight Hand Arm Wingspan
George Iloka S 6035 222 9 5/8 33 7/8 81 5/8
Doug Martin RB 5090 219 9 1/8 29 7/88 78 1/8
Shea McClellin DE 6032 248 10 1/8 31 3/4 77 1/2
Kellen Moore QB 5116 191 9 3/8 29 7/8 73
Billy Winn DT 6033 296 9 1/8 31 1/4 78

Star-divide

Boise State outside linebacker Shea McClellin had interviews with Baltimore and Pittsburgh. Shea weighed in at 248 so they are saying he will be a LB instead of DE.

Kellen Moore had an interview with the Denver Broncos.

Charlie Campbell of Walterfootball.com had this to say about the weigh-in:

  • Boise State safety George Iloka (6-3, 222) is a big safety who will appeal to teams that want an enforcer type.

  • Boise State running back Doug Martin (5-9, 219) looks like a body builder. Like Lavonte David, there isn't an ounce of fat on Martin.
  • I only included the glowing reviews he gave. As a homer, it is my job to accentuate the positive and ignore the negative :)

This content was not created by OBNUG and therefore may not meet our standards. On the contrary, it probably exceeds them.

So glad our boys are doing great!

Would LOVE to have one or more Broncos play for my Steelers!! That blue collar mentality in conjunction with The Steelers going back to their smashmouth football roots…that would be awesome! Cant wait to watch the Senior Bowl on Saturday!!

Ya, but was not to keen on the Steeler’s Defensive scheme against Denver. I thought they really
screwed the pooch on that one regardless of injuries.

So there are a ton of conflicting reports

on Kellen. Some of the scouts say he looks stiff and that he can’t throw the deep out. Other scouts say he is leading receivers well and throwing great deep balls. Don’t know what exactly to say…i guess that we will see come game time.

Iloka and Martin are making huge waves. People are saying that Iloka is physically dominating and has great speed. Doug is being doug and blowing the place up. One report I read stated that he was “the most athletic player on the field”. McClellan has moved to linebacker and is also adjusting well. I haven’t found a peep on Billy however.

If anyone has the motivation to search the reports and post them please do. I obviously do not have the motivation. Hey….at least im honest.

Dare you to find a cooler picture. SSgt Clay "Dirt" Thurston (above, left) sent OBNUG this picture of him and pal TSgt Seth "Tidy" Randleman from Afghanistan. The boys are standing in front of an A-10 Warthog and proudly displaying their second favorite flag. Thanks for your service, guys...and come home safe!
