Chip Kelly drama, while you were sleeping addition
As it stands now, Chip Kelly is staying at Oregon. That's the bottom line. In case you went to bed early last night and are wondering what the heck everyone is talking about it, out of nowhere last night came rumors then confirmation that Kelly was on his way to Tampa to become the next Buccaneers coach. In unrelated news here in Nashville we had Tornado warnings so it was a pretty interesting night all around for me.
Chris Petersen would not be at the top of Oregon's list of Kelly replacements
The Kelly news set off the dominos as to who would replace Kelly and this time the ripples of a coaching vacancy came way too close to home as everyone assumed Oregon's list would contain one and only one candidate, Chris Petersen. However, the most interesting thing to come out of this is that Oregon would not be necessarily be making the first call to Coach Pete. TCU coach Gary Patterson and current offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich would have been top targets also. My guess is that Phil Knight was not involved with making this list.
In in season news, the basketball team continues their skid with a loss to TCU on Saturday. Boise State had twice led by 15 points in the second half but let TCU back in it with an 18-2 run and the Horned Frogs ended up taking the game 54-52. It's the fourth straight loss for the guys and drops them to 10-8 on the year and 0-3 in conference.
Daryn Colledge donates $150k to Boise State
This news came out Friday afternoon but I thought it deserved to be repeated. Former Boise State player and current Arizona Cardinal Daryn Colledge made a very sizable donation back to Boise State. The money is earmarked to upgrade the weight room equipment for the players. The donation comes after the first season of Colledge's five year, $27.5 million contract with $10 million of that guaranteed. Hooray for NFL players!
Joe Paterno passed away yesterday at the age of 85
It's a sad ending for the the recently ousted coach. He battled lung cancer recently and that's the cause of death but you wonder how things would have played out without the stress of the Sandusky allegations. He made a mistake, but he will ultimately be remembered for what he did not what he didn't do.

I'm glad I don't have to worry about that now
I hate Oregon so much I think my head would explode if Coach Pete took that job.
I'm torn on JoePa.
the good he’s done cannot be overlooked. But his “one” mistake cost a lot of people a lot of heartache. (Obviously the real criminal here is Sandusky, let’s not forget that, but Paterno should have stepped in sooner.)
My QB has an AWARD named after him. How about yours?!

The only thing the BCS has to fear, is fear itself, and Blue is the color of fear.
I repeat do not assume the position..... Yet?
Coach Petersen is not going anywhere, because I’m going anywhere. Anyways, I’m in a meeting right now with subordinates, discussing the prevention of pounding sand as a measure for increasing productivity today.
Meeting Notes:

You and your photos...
