Chris "The Trucker" Santini

PrintLadies and gent's this is what we shall know are newest recruit Chris Santini as: "The Trucker". For those of you who didn't know, last year Mr. Santini was hit by a truck while riding his bicycle. He suffered injuries that held him out for a few weeks. This incident manifested to Chris what his opponents feel every time they make contact. If you've seen his highlights reels than you know he brings it 100% and destroys everyone/thing in his path. He will add a new dimension to BSU's OLB/nickel position once he hits the field. In my opinion he is the biggest commit that we've landed this year.
Not only does he have a great nickname but I want every BSU fan to either chant or just think to themselves every time he hits someone "You just got Truck'd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I want to thank you for your cooperation and hopefully this name will catch on.

I'm gonna be honest.
I’m not diggin this nickname. I’m not sure he would want to be named after a vehicle that hit him. I’m all for getting behind Santini and building him up, but I just can’t get on board with this. Someone posted “The Great Santini” and that seems more fitting, but I guess I have just never been a huge fan of nicknames. That’s just me though, not trying to rain on your parade lol.

I just know that the Great Santini was a movie made a long time ago and he probably got the nickname due to this movie and for no other reason, I believe. My last name is Remington so of course I was called Remington Steele by everyone and I could care less about some old time show. I wanted something with meaning to me.The name fits him and will be great to chant “You just got Trucked” as he destroys someone.
I totally get where you are coming from.
I had similar nicknames, et al names that rhyme with my name or the name of a famous person/fictional character. But what I’m saying is giving him a nickname based off traumatic experience in his life is not the same thing. Giving a guy the nickname “One-eyed Willy”, while fitting because he has one eye, probably wouldn’t be the best because he doesn’t want to be reminded of the bow hunting accident, regardless of the fact that he’s fine now. I get the whole “truck’d” thing, and I get where you are going on with it. Santini is a beast and he will bring the pain A LOT. And I agree with blues lol. “Santini” won’t sound the same from the stands haha. I’m not saying we need to call him something. If anything I’m saying let’s call him by his name. We don’t have nicknames for 95% of the players on the team. Billy Winn was a terror, but we didn’t call him anything. And Matt Miller’s “Miller Time” that I heard a few times is more of a catch phrase than a nickname. I just don’t think we NEED to give him a nickname just cause he’s obviously going to do some awesome things, especially one referencing something he probably doesn’t want to be reminded of.
Obviously, you can do what you want, and if Chris digs it, awesome. I’m just gonna pass on this one myself.

if the truck was totaled and hauled off to the curb. I like “Trucker”…I’m afraid if we were screaming “Santini” it would souind like a bunch of “wheeeeee”…?

OOPS! I hit the wrong key. I look forward to seeing this dude, I mean STUD! We have a great class for next year! Tehy say this is the best recruiting class, EVER!
BSU doesn’t rebuild, they just get a truck…..load!
