MWC Basketball Best in the West
This is a great preview to our conference, Eamonn Brennan dials up a great overview of the top contenders and also a few shoutouts to Boise State: Even Boise State -- for which hoops is usually an afterthought -- is 10-5 and appears able to upset the balance of power on any given night. Put it all together, and pound for pound, the Mountain West appears to be one of the six best hoops conferences in the country this season. He also names Drmic the best Freshman in the conference, falling in line with ESPN naming him 14th best in the country yesterday. Ultimately his best part relates to something many of us felt a while back when BSU was picked dead last in the MWC, a 6th place finish. BSU seems to be getting picked to finish 6th by quite a few people recently and it's perfectly reasonable. A couple wins against TCU, 2 more against Wyoming, and winning 2 of our 4 matchups against AFA/CSU would pretty much get us there. The game this weekend is crucial to getting there. Exciting times for BSU Basketball!
