Wake up, Bronco Nation: Boise State football links and things, 1-13-12
Boise State opens up conference play against Air Force on Saturday
The guys have had almost 2 weeks to rest and make adjustments. They'll be defending the nation's 10th longest home winning streak with 15 straight home wins. Game tips off at 4 p.m. at Taco Bell Arena.
Mark Emmert has offered his opinion on the college football postseason if anyone cares
As you can imagine, he's fully in support of the NCAA running a 4 team playoff (enough with this "plus one" crap, call it what it is) but doesn't think that the field should expand to 8 or 16 teams because apparently FBS players' bodies are much more fragile than FCS players'.
There are 230 days until the season starts
And Paul Myerberg from Pre-Snap Read has listed 230 things to do in the meantime. Just don't do one each day unless you do numbers 171 and 172 right before then right after midnight.
SB Nation's Top 100 games of 2011
Boise State makes the list for three games, Arizona State, Georgia and TCU. It would be nice to get back on the good side of some of these lists last year instead of making the greatest upsets list or something similar.
Happy Birthdays!
A very happy birthday to reader Elizabeth Bindas as she has the lucky distinction to share a birthday with Doug Martin who also will be blowing out some candles today. Congratulations you two!

Don't know where else to put this
but I chuckled over this “lighter side” quotation in today’s (paper copy) Statesman:
Landing a Blue-Chipper
“The new leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, is a four-star general,” wrote Brad Dickerson of the Omaha (Neb.) World-Herald. “That’s according to Rivals.com.”
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they, too, have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexations to the spirit.

Dear OBNUG,
Who is going to do, the dearly departed Craig James’ Job, now that he is gone. I have no one to kick around at this time and I am suffering from Just Another Malfunction ESPN Syndrome, know as JAMES. My Doctor recommends me to keep searching OBNUG for a cure. Would you, Could you recommend a tonic or a New ESPN Sycophant Transplant (NEST) for me to settle on. The Doctor thinks this type of transplant will cure it, since the Blue and Orange pills I am taking won’t make it stop my slobber knocking.

Sincerely Yours,
Trapperpk
The only thing the BCS has to fear, is fear itself, and Blue is the color of fear.
Coach Dutton
called that a snot-bubbler… my brain hurts just looking at that

Stupid.
Now i’m wondering if the NCAA as a whole is corrupted. A 4 team playoff is not good enough. When they adopt that system, people are just going to want more. How can College Football out of all sports get this wrong, College Football? This Freakin Blows Dudes.
'Trust me, i can protect myself. I'm a Boise State Broncos Football fan.'
Tomorrow's Basketball Game
Taco Bell has free tickets to tomorrow’s game. I meant to post this earlier, but haven’t been able to get to the interwebs.
