Heads up Bronco fans. Our favorite midget from ESPN Snookie (aka Sarah Phillips) is back at it. If you missed what happened last week, Sarah awoke the sleeping dragon that is the Boise State fans when she posted this horrible column for ESPN: http://espn.go.com/espn/page2/index?id=6944596
Well Snookies wish came true and a "I hate Sarah Phillips" group was indeed created. Sarah takes a step backward last week and posted the following:
No. 4 Boise State at Toledo, Friday, 8 p.m. ET, ESPN
All right, Boise fans. I'd like to visit Idaho at some point in my life, so let me use this week's Boise pick as a peace offering for last week's column. The Broncos are 5-1 against the spread when set as a 10½-point favorite or greater, so that bodes well for impressing the computers. Drilling Toledo this week is the equivalent of throwing spinners on the Boise State RAV 4. Let's work together on tricking it out to make it presentable at the end of the season to the BCS. Deal? Oh, and if you're going to create a Boise State "I Hate Sarah Phillips" group, at least get membership in the triple digits. You're better than that.
Pick: Boise State (-17½)
To be fair, the group is already in the triple digits, but if your interested in joining the facebook group and adding to the already growing number here you go; http://www.facebook.com/groups/172664309475972/?notif_t=group_activity
After multiple death threats Sarah then goes ahead and picks Kellen Moore to win the Heisman Trophy, what's going on here? Bellow is an excerpt from her column:
Kellen Moore (6:1)
Oddsmakers are rooting hard for a Reno reprise, as Moore presents the greatest liability for sports books if he wins the Heisman.
However, there are plenty of reasons to believe Moore will win. He's on pace to complete 70 percent of his passes, with a 5:1 touchdown to interception ratio, and he's the leader of a team which will probably finish the season undefeated. Plus, Moore no longer plays in the whack conference, which improves his candidacy.
Now, ask yourself: Will Moore have Heisman-level statistics this season? Check. Will Moore help Boise State clinch a berth in a BCS bowl game? Check. Will Moore fail to translate college supremacy into NFL stardom? Check. Out of 76 Heisman recipients, only eight winners have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Heisman Award is often a precursor for winding up in Page 2's Backup Quarterback Rankings. The last Heisman winner from outside the major conferences was BYU quarterback Ty Detmer in 1990. But that streak is about to end.Kellen Moore is going to bring the Heisman Trophy to Idaho. That's no small potatoes.
Fast forward one week and Sarah is back again (bipolar) to drink her ellitist Kool-aid. Here is her prediction for the Tulsa game:
Tulsa at No. 4 Boise State, 8 p.m. ET, CBS Sports Network
I'm just as shocked as you are, Boise fans. I thought this nonconference showdown would be on national TV. If playing Tulsa doesn't boost a team's strength of schedule, I don't know what does. The Golden Hurricane doesn't have the talent to beat Boise State, but it has had success covering the number against the Broncos. Tulsa is 3-0 against the spread in its past three meetings against Boise, and it's 10-3 against the spread in its past 13 games overall.
Pick: Tulsa (-32½)
