I only make this post because of how SEC/Big 12 conference re-alignment might affect Boise State's future.
I've heard any number of rumors lately regarding conference re-alignments. I was driving through Tennessee a couple of months ago and I heard a late night radio sports show host talking about how the Big East might invite Vanderbilt and Kentucky from the SEC, as well as Kansas from the Big 12. I don't know if this was an actual rumor going around or just some ramblings of a deluded Vandy fan, but recent events regarding Texas A&M and the SEC have got me to thinking.
The SEC recently said that they are happy with their 12 school alignment, yet left the door open to future expansion. Now the news is that the SEC has given Texas A&M a September 1st deadline to apply to join the SEC. This seems to imply that the SEC is considering expanding already. Is it possible that the radio show guy's rumor was correct and that the SEC knows they might be losing two schools and will need to replace them in order to remain at 12? Or is it all unrelated and the radio guy is really just deluded?
