on a positive note
he spelled Coach Pete’s name right.
do have to give him props on that.
BUT WAIT. The detailed benefits are not just your average dollars-under-the-table, or some lameass "we let some players sleep at an apartment on the floor with a coach's help" allegations. No, you get the hell out of here, Boise.

DEVONTE CHRISTOPHER!!!!
September 3rd, 2011 - Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game - Boise State vs Georgia
"Being realistic is the most commonly traveled path to mediocrity" - Will Smith
that's what I was thinking.
the players will be more than aware of this. and last time this happened, it didn’t end up too well for that player or his team.

Dear Lord I hope he gets it kicked to him and
Blake Renaud just blasts him. It’s one thing for a player to talk bw about one of our players but when you direct that bw at Chris Petersen, the most respectable guy in the whole sport, you deserve to get your head taken off.

You guys are priceless...
Seems like every player coach and watergirl associated with your team is the greatest in the entire sport. People would take you a lot more seriously if you had at least a slippery grip on reality. There are a lot of teams out there with a lot of talented coaches and players. I guess you are pretty insulated out in Boise, but you do get cable TV right?!?

Not greatest individual players.
We know that. But greatest team? Heck yes!
"Everyone counted us out. I don't know why they keep doing that." -- Kyle Wilson
"It takes no talent to give great effort." | "We’re not going to play to the outside noise." -- Chris Petersen
"[Kellen] Moore is a walking Staples® button." -- Ivan Maisel
"I’ve never seen a better prepared team than the Boise State Broncos and it was a privilege to watch them play." -- Lou Holtz
And greatest coach.
It’s a fact.

well...
When you have a coach that is the ONLY 2 time winner of the Bear Bryant award.. and with a 61-5 coaching record, not to mention a 5-1 record against your ‘superior’ Big 6 conference teams … As well as being the coach that pushed Boise State into becoming a football powerhouse.. Yeah I think Boise State has a pretty good football coach..

That's probably a fake acct
Coach richt is pretty tight on what the players tweet..so I doubt that’s boykin
You could be right
I just cant find anything about it on any dawgnews something this dumb would be out by now
Why so serious?
This is just Brandon having fun. These guys have been working their tails off for the last several months in anticipation for this week. Lets not get all bent out of shape. I would expect these statements from boise fans, but c’mon Dawg!
To be honest, it’s probably pretty sound advice. He is a Monster.
It’s locker room material, for sure, but it’s GAME WEEK!!!
Calling the players out is ok but calling out a coach shows a lack of respect
That to me is the biggest issue, shows no class.

And if it were boykin
It would be all over dawgsports about how stupid he is there nothing anywhere in any dawg news about this tweet
On the other hand
It still could be fake you knowhow many people could think it’s a legit account and follow it? Could be a Boise fan after all…Coach Petersen’s name is spelled correctly lol
Good point!

‘Stupid is as stupid does…’
Yeah I agree
Not sure why he did this hopefully he’ll have a long conditioning session with Coach T for this… It’s basic common sense that no matter who your opponent is never EVER give any reason for more motivation well, it’s out there now he’s gotta own it
It would be interesting, if he can back it up. Neon Deion with FSU, Falcons, etc.
used to do it. He seemed to get the opposing players out of wack by doing it.
For what it's worth
I’m still thinking it’s a hacker (well, hoping). And if it isn’t well at least hes trash talking politely to ya’lls Coach. Lol damn I can’t believe this.
i think its real
but in good fun. no harm, no foul to me.

I agree
I think this is more along the lines of friendly competitiveness. When I read it I don’t see anger, hatred, or disrespect. I see smiles, laughing, and general horseplay amongst the boys.
That said, it WILL be twisted and used as locker room propaganda I’m sure. I believe, as good natured as the comment probably is, that this constitutes the first shot across the bow.

Agreed
He tweeted less than an hour later that he did not mean any disrespect and that he was just excited for the game. Also, that he didn’t say anything classless, and that his team needed some swagger. This might be a special teams coach endorsed tweet because Richt regulates this stuff quite a bit.

I agree.
Not classless – just pregame hype. I actually love it. Wouldn’t be football without it. Nothing distasteful – just a guy who’s ready to play. It’s motivation for you guys, it’s motivation for our guys. Let’s go.

No offence has been taken
What it shows though, as commented to on Dawg Sports is, cockiness. It shows a lack of discipline. We love it. It’s just one more thing to motivate our Broncos. Thank you Mr. Boykin.
A beer at the Georgia Dome
If a Boise fan can tell you where that quote comes from.

This is a non-story
I’m not sure why you guys think this is great locker room fodder, but this seems to all be in good fun. I even like how he included his special team teammates in the tweet. I’m sure the guy cannot wait to get the ball in his hands and he’s hoping it’s kicked to him. I love it.
I like it.
After a whole off-season of Boise State being in good graces from the mouths of Georgia players, I think it’s time for players to turn up the heat for Saturday’s game. I don’t think it’s trash talk, either, I think he’s really pumped to be getting the ball and doing something with it, no matter the opponent.

It's not great Locker Room material at all.
But both teams are going to be looking for anything to amp them up even more and give them all the more reason to execute plays w/ extreme prejudice.
I used to think this game would have some real scuffles in it before it was through but the more I consider the head coaches the more I think it will be highly competitive but well played as well (similar to our game against VT last year).
Still, anything at all that can be used for motivation, even if taken out of context, will probably be used. And that goes for both sides.
At any rate, Boykin’s tweet is not even int he same galaxy as the Utah player’s pregame tweet last year about “Girlsie State”. I believe that dude was held to zero catches lol.

In other words, Boise could wear pink-on-pink and still beat you in Bronco Stadium by 30 points. The Broncos could wear pink-on-pink with ankle weights and beat you 14 points. - Paul Myerberg, Pre Snap Read

He is UGA’s all time leader in career kickoff return yards with 1,813 and is the only player in SEC history to have three 100-yard plays of any kind. He averages 25.2 yards per return.
Yeah, I definitely think he has the goods to deliver.
and word on the street is that our coverage teams are shaky at best which is probably what led him to the tweet after doing some film study.
That’s why I say that, despite the good natured ribbing, it will probably be used as extra motivation and a challenge to rise to.
That said, it might not matter how hard of an effort is put forth to cover this guy. He’s flat out great at what he does.

Brandon is a great player.
If I was Brandon Boykin, I might be that confident and slightly arrogant as well. He is probably spilling over with
anticipation to show these Broncos an SEC butt whoopin’.
But I think his tweet won’t affect anyone more than himself. Boise State thrives on discipline and letting go of distractions. Lessons have been learned. (Picturing Hout privately reading up on Blount’s pre-loss arrogance and having it end badly.)
And Furthermore, Boise State isn’t David anymore, but a leaner Goliath. They are much stronger than the Zabransky led team of Fiesta bowl magic. They are a Texas/California (Netherlands, coincidentally) talent machine and they have possession of the Kellen Moore android 2011.
Both teams being so close in excellence, the team with a Kellen Moore wins. Its simple math.
This is going to be a hell of a game.
K Clint Stitser, who missed three field goals in today’s practice, was waived.
Hey Blake Renaud just tweeted:
@BlakeRenaud Dear Coach Petersen, please have Trevor Harman kick it to Brandon Boykin… Sincerely, the 4 Horses of the Apocalypse.
Sounds like game on to me.
(Okay, he didn’t really tweet this. I don’t want him getting into trouble.)

Who can name . . .
. . . the original Bronco “Four Horsemen”? I’ll start you off with Cedric Minter.
I hate to answer myself
But here they are:
TB Cedric Minter
QB Joe Aliotti
TB Terry Zahmer
FB David Hughes
The original Bronco Four Horsemen, who helped Boise State win the 1-AA National Championship in 1980. A fearsome foursome, with a thrilling last-second victory over Eastern Kentucky. I almost lost my voice, screaming in the family room after the game. You can bet the spirit of these guys will be riding with the 2011 Broncos! Who says Boise doesn’t have tradition? Ghost Horse!

…best not be seeing him taking a knee in the end zone on any kickoffs or waving his hand in the air on any punts.

This young man
may be throwing out some good smack talk and fodder for motivation but, as Dizzy Dean once said, “It ain’t braggin’ if you can back it up”. I would venture to say Mr. Boykin can back it up.
That being said, I doubt the ’Dawgs special teams, as good as they may be, can carry both their offense and defense as well. Therefore, BSU still wins. Go Broncos!
Wish he hadn't said anything.
Swagger is earned, and, while Boykin is as effecitve a KR as anybody right now, we don’t have much to brag about. Besides, KR is hit-or-miss: even the worst covering team still tackles most runners.
However, if there is anybody I want you guys to be worried about, it’s a CB/KR. Please focus on him.

I think Coach Pete would have his player running some gassers if he talked crap like that to another player
I think he’d bench a player for talking crap like that to a coach though.
Before a few weeks ago, I'd never heard the term gassers
We always called ’em wind sprints. Not sure why, just did.
