but I believe he is using genteel correctly in that he is referring to the politeness, the haberdashery, the southern smooth well-dressed charm (similar to their whiskey) that southerners are always braggin on. (you perhaps were thinking of gentile?) Larry the cable guy is probably not the best example of genteel.
