2011 will be the season the Broncos return to ground and pound. With Austin Pettis and Titus Young off to the NFL, Boise State's running game has become as important as ever. Hopefully D.J. Harper can stay healthy and Jay Ajayi can step up and contribute. For the Broncos, the time is now. I feel pretty good about Doug Martin returning for his final season on the Blue and it would be nice to send the seniors out with a bang. He's on the Maxwell preseason watch list. This 2 star recruit has shown that Boise State's recruiting methods are sound. Here's to a promising 2011!

Doug Martin a winner?
He ran for less than 90 yards in half his games and was shut down by some weak teams. He isn’t that impressive.
He only played till half time in most games.

Which of those 3 had a top 25 defense? None.
It’s easy to run a bit when you play against weak defenses. Last year Boise had a good cast of receivers to force teams to play deep and open the run. Not so this year.
Stop trying to play this season with last seasons stats.

Dothework, you might want to research before posting such a preposterous lie. Martin played through the 3rd quarter in nearly every game and most of the 4th quarter in most. I think he only sat out the 2nd half in 1 game. But, nice try, anyway.

Those where the cup cake teams you might consider his season averages and what he did in meaningful games, Douge simply didn’t get the carries in those games because they were blow outs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boise had 11 of those cup cake teams on their schedule last season. And lost to one of them.

Good news: Doug Martin will be a finalist in two awards.
Bad news: This will hurt Kellen Moore’s statistics.
I think Kellen will get off to his usual start, but as opposing coaches prepare for Moore, Coach Pete and Pease will mad smash their defensive lines.

Is definitely a player the dawg defense is going to have to contain and also watch on pass plays because I could see and have seen the ball dumped off to him when not expected in games. I watched as many games Boise played ni last year as I could and give 1-2 blocks he will make a defense pay given the chance. I do not doubt that since Coach Petersen has all summer to scheme for the dawgs you better believe The muscle hamster is being mentioned in film sessions with the 1st defense.

And yes, Doug Martin is the kind of ball carrier that needs to be contained and shut down before he gets going as I said before I know he`s going to be a major factor in the offense until Kellen Moore has bonafide proven, consistent targets to throw to and even then he still will be a weapon.

On tanking I’m not saying the dawns will not come out flat there’s always that possibility but this game is important for both programs Boise has to win it to reamin somewhat legit Georgia has to wnin simply because of the conference they represent not to mention the proof they are still a contender for the SEC East I can’t predict a victory but you can net not to expect the same team that went 6- 7 last year
