Such disappointment in the NCAA... You sit idly by in silence when the BCS Conferences steal billions of dollars from you and "outside members" and spend time, money and effort to create an negative environment within the member ranks that are not kind, courteous and respectful to fellow humanity. Shame on You. I have read your allegations about violations of improper treatment of fellow athletes. You feel that wrong has been committed when a prospective athlete is a) given space to sleep on a floor of a fellow athlete; b) bought a meal by a staff member or fellow athlete on arrival to a new destination as a welcome gesture; c) a parent provided a $7.50 welcome gift to a new athlete arriving on campus; d) and a coaching staff member arranges a living housing, which the student paid full rent. Are kidding me? Your organization is part of the problem not the solution. With these policies, no wonder our country is creating an attitude of resistance to help one another and provide a helping hand. Your organization tolerates cheats, thieves and liars in major universities and permits their athletes to play in the post season...remember this past year? What is the NCAA established and published student value for sleeping on a couch or floor? A basket of cookies? What is next? NCAA rules that prohibit a fellow student parent to put their arm around a new student and say "welcome to Boise". Are you kidding me? Fans of Boise State will never condone lying, distorting, cheating and/or any illegal act. Any person found guilty of such behavior must be dealt with appropriately. Having principals, at this point is not a crime, nor should any organization sponsor any action that is contrary to our basic rights. I am totally disappointed with these trivial NCAA charges against Boise State and your continued fear of "run-a-muck" large universities. Why has the NCAA become impotent in following their own rules..."managing all college sports on a national basis"? Take back the football bowl season from the "den of six"? Fearful? You may have concluded that it is safer to jump on the "Sisters of the Poor"...but you may find the results catastrophic. It is your responsibility to do the right thing. Be impartial. Build quality athletes. Support civility and truth. Create leaders. Bronco Nation will be watching the outcome of this "nuisance threatening act". The laws of our country will prevail through the FTC...if need be with our support.
