Boise State gives Coach Pete a bonus, pretends the Nevada game never happened

PrintBoise State announced a bonus and a raise for Coach Pete yesterday to say thank you for a season of unprecedented notoriety. Oh, also to absolve Petersen of any responsibility in the Game Of Which We Do Not Speak.
The ($50,000) bonus would increase Petersen's performance bonus for the 2010 season to $125,000 - the amount he would have received if the Broncos reached a Bowl Championship Series game.
The response in the comments at the Idaho Statesman website was a flame war about academics, which completely misses the point. Boise State basically just admitted that Boise State should have won the Nevada game. Either that or they just paid out the smallest bribe in the history of college football for a coach to say no to Stanford.

building up
he was just building up the moment for when BSU hits the NC Game in 2011 with out all the starters from 2010. Then the SEC & BSC will understand that Coach Pete’s finest work is still in front of him. No one outside of Boise expects anything from BSU this year.
Savory the moment & the ride.
Any one who has a problem with Pete getting a bonus because of academics
doesn’t actually care about academics. If it weren’t for our football program, Boise State wouldn’t have as much pressure to grow academically as they do. So, Coach Pete = successful Boise State Football = better academics. It’s math and I didn’t even go to college.

i can’t take it. i read a story on the statesman website, see the comments, get sucked in to the first 5 and then lose patience and start cussing. the statesman comment section is a wasteland.

Spring practice
Is there still only onescrimmage that fans can go and watch this year. In previous years there has been about 3 to go & watch. 2 early scrimmages and the Blue/Orange game.
this year I thought I read were only the Blue/Orange game was going to be open to the public.
