One of the reasons I'm excited for Arizona State
I want to see the match up between Doug Martin and their athletic, big, run-stopping linebackers.
I feel this will be one of the most intriguing match ups of the game. We've all seen what Doug Martin can do, we've been witnessing it for a few years now, but this may be a new monster that we've had to face. Don't get me wrong, we've faced good linebackers, but I feel this could be Martin's biggest challenge. Will he be able to hold up against strong NFL talent? Will he run around them? Through them? OVER them (Ask Jamar Taylor)? I guess we'll get to see what he has in store on December 22nd!

Depends on where it happens
In the open field he should be just fine…on the goal line he will have trouble. Vontaze Burfict has a tendency to stonewall people on the goal line.
Hey thanks for the heads up...
Is Burfict really as good as a run-stopper as everyone thinks? I mean obviously he’s good at the goal line like you stated, but how are his other skills? Sideline to sideline movement? Pass coverage? Smarts? ATTITUDE? Also, how are your other linebackers?
Yes and No
Burfict is physically the most talented linebacker since Ray Lewis. When he plays to his potential he is ridiculous but that is not very often. Sideline movement he is INSANE! Pass coverage is only average. Attitude is generally good. His real issue is he is an idiot on the field and has no self-control to stop when the whistle blows. If you would like to see what he is capable of…check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwJCYhOdazE
As for on the goal line
What he does to the lineman in this video is a perfect example of how he blows up goal line plays…you can see how a dive up the middle goes nowhere on ASU when they are expecting it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9j3xYWnXWCM&feature=related
Dose of reality
ASU is 6-6. Let me say it again. ASU IS 6-6! They finished 3rd in the pathetic Pac 12 south. How in the world can you get excited about this game? I ask because I’d like to know how so I can get excited or at least have a better attitude toward the game.
Yeah, it's not what we wanted at the beginning of the year.
Everybody all year knew it was get the non-AQ auto bid, or play in Vegas or San Diego. Well, they lost to TCU and we didn’t get the non-AQ auto bid. We’ve read your posts: Clearly, you don’t like it. Still, let’s try to make the best of it. If you can go to the game, go to the game. If you can’t go, watch it on television. Have fun. Cheer, even if you’re at home. Or don’t, if that’s not your thing. But remember this: we will never see Kellen Moore play another game for the Broncos. Thank your lucky stars that you got to be a Boise State fan when one of the best college quarterbacks ever played for your favorite team. You get to see McClellen and Winn and Martin and Shoe and Potter and Iloka and bunch of other dudes play their hearts out for one last game, and risk suffering really terrible painful injuries for your entertainment. We are goddamned lucky.
I don't believe in dibs, or love at first sight, or love, or best friends, or doing things.

It has been an honor indeed
To watch and follow this group of BSU seniors. It really has and I’ll be praying that noone is hurt in this game. I just want this group of seniors to be given the repsect that is due to them. It’s just that I can;t bear the thought of them being laughed at as if they are a second rate team. We all know different though. I’ll be routing for them win, lose or draw. Guaranteed! If i cam make the game in Vegas I will. If not, I’ll have to hold down Fort Bronco here in Los Angeles to do battle with the USC and Pac 12 fans that absolutely despise BSU.
GO BRONCOS!!
I admire your courage!
Those USC fans have to be as arrogant as Ohio St fans “were”
If you ever wanted to see Boise St play...may be a good chance. Love em or Hate em, they are always interesting; and now, no matter where you live, "They're Coming To Your City"

Italian, whats up with all the reality stuff!
Your from SoCal. Didn’t you hear? ASU torched USC 43-22. In Tucson, I personally saw a 5-6 ASU trade leads, a dozen times, with a 9-1 Arizona team that narrowly missed the NCG. The game was a toss up til the very end. One of the best games I’ve ever seen. They started this season 5-1, and I don’t know if they had some injuries that screwed their season (we did), or what? However, I can assure you, we better bring our AAA+ game, because in their back yard, ASU is gonna bring it! They don’t care what their record is. You just never know with those guys. I think they like being the spoiler, I doubt Coach is underestimating them as you are.
I doubt Coach Pete is underestimating them either...
as you stated. Somehow, I don’t think Dennis Erickson will be able to get his guys up for the game. Call it a hunch.

Remember what happens to teams...
that stop or try to stop our running attack. The surgeon enjoys that type of challenge. If they key on Martin, he will keep pounding anyway until they drop off after getting burned all night through the air. And then Doug and DJ will get free and do their thing in the 2nd half when we need to control the clock.
The surgeon will find your weakness quickly and exploit it. Its inevitable, it always has been. That is why he is 49-3, as are many of the teamates around him.
So yeah, good luck with that ASU. Hard game coming up…but a Fargo Winter will settle things in the end.

Rec'd for "Fargo Winter"
Yes, I know its provenance but still worthy of a rec.
The battle for hierarchy is more intense the lower the class.
This is true...
and I haven’t thought about that until you mentioned it.
But we’ll see PLENTY of that next year in the NFL. You can bank on that. Burfict will probably be the top linebacker taken in the draft and Martin will be a top 3 running back. He’ll go in the late 1st or early 2nd round.
This game is just another notch on our belt of victories over BCS teams.
