So I am spending some time on fox sports and they have this article about Div III schools and how unsuccessful and messed up their playoff system is. As I read the article I kept waiting to here about the part that makes their 32 team playoff such a farce. I never found it. Just because 2 teams have consistently beat the other competition on the field the writer of the article makes a lame attempt to relegate the playoff to a system that doesn't reward the other teams or (apparently) give them a shot at the title.
Maybe I am missing something but it seems to me that the reporter actually proves why a playoff is so good. If all 237 schools of Div III were in a BCS system the top 30 teams would not have even been given a chance to play the two top teams. Voters would have simply decided to let them play for the title. but since they had a playoff, other teams actually played them and lost. Is the media so biased that they simply can't see how important that is to athletes...to actually play on the field? I think I hate the media more than ever - not because of their opinions but because of their control. I am glad OBNUG is not a part of the media. Drew, Nick and Kevan (and the rest of the NUGgies) ...thanks for the sanity
