This is a busy and exciting week for Bronco Nation, but I’d like to pause for a moment amid the hoopla to pay tribute to a special class of Americans.

It became evident before and after the game with the Air Force Academy that there are a lot of Bronco fans who currently serve or who have served in the U.S. military.

On Friday, 11-11-11, I salute those men and women who made the sacrifices, large and small, to do what few others have done – been willing to risk their very lives in defense of the Constitution of the United States.

Our gratitude, especially, to those who made the supreme sacrifice, and to their families who miss them so terribly.

And thank you to our citizens who now vocally recognize the contributions of our veterans. It is heartwarming to see how attitudes have changed.

In solemn remembrance – lest we forget that there is a price for freedom.
