Media's BCS Disneyland

Dear Harris Poll Voter, Coaches Poll Voter, AP Voter, TV and Sports Radio Pundit, et al:

With Alabama being ranked at #3 in the latest BCS rankings, it's clear that no matter how some teams perform on the field, they will never be given a shot at the National Championship.  Since it's obvious what direction you're going, why don't you end the agony for the small minority of us who believe that ALL teams should have a chance.  In fact, we can call off the rest of the season and go with the following BCS Bowl Schedule below.  I hope you enjoy it.

Allstate BCS National Championship Game

Jan. 9

New Orleans, La.

SEC #1 vs. SEC #2

8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN

Comment:  Alabama gets a second chance against LSU since the Tide are so much more likely to beat the Tigers in LSU’s backyard after failing to beat them in Tuscaloosa.  Should Alabama win, there is absolutely no question they are the better team since the teams split the season series.  Why would we want an undefeated team when you can have a defeated team?

Allstate Sugar Bowl

Jan. 3

New Orleans, La.

SEC #3 vs. SEC #4

8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN

Comment: South Carolina gets a second chance against Arkansas since rematches are clearly what the public is clamoring for.  The Razorbacks victory last week was recently voted Second Game of the Century.

Tostitos Fiesta Bowl

Jan. 2

Glendale, Az.

SEC #5 vs. SEC #6

8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN

Comment: Georgia and Auburn meet for a second time, and even though the first game hasn’t even been played, it will most surely need a rematch.  Then again, may need to rethink having Georgia in this game since the Bulldogs besmirched the SEC’s name by getting manhandled by Boise State.

Tostitos Fiesta Bowl (Updated)

Jan. 2

Glendale, Az.

SEC #5 vs. SEC #6

8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN

Comment:  The Aggies in, the Bulldogs out.  Much better, even if it is an SEC newbie.  Just to be clear, Georgia would never have loss to the Broncos if they hadn’t had to travel all the way to Boise.  What’s that you say...that game was in Atlanta?  Georgia is no longer welcome in SEC country.

Rose Bowl Game presented by Vizio

Jan. 2

Pasadena, Ca.

SEC #7 vs. SEC #8

5:00 p.m., ESPN

Comment: Florida belongs here because they’re Florida.  Never mind that their record is hovering around .500.  Remember, once you’re good, you’re always good.  Mississippi State is the other selection based on their dismantling of the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks.  And also because Mississippi State is in the SEC.

Discover Orange Bowl

Jan. 4

Miami, Fla.

SEC #9 vs. SEC #10

8:00 p.m. ET, ESPN

Comment: Kentucky is the choice after getting quality wins over Sun Belt, Mid-American and Ohio Valley opponents, as well as defeating one SEC opponent (Ole Miss).  Vanderbilt took care of Elon College in Week 1, guaranteeing them a spot in this game.  Oh, and both Kentucky and Vanderbilt are in the SEC.

AT&T Cotton Bowl

Jan. 6

Arlington, Tx.

SEC #11 vs. SEC #12

8:00 p.m., FOX

Comment: You can throw out the records when these teams play.  And you’ll want to since both of them are winless in the SEC.  If they were in any other conference, they’d be 12-0.
