Boise St; Love 'em or Hate 'em, you're always interested

We all know, the fact that BSU polarizes the nation, actually helps their exposure. Some watch to see them succeed and some watch to see them fail, but the fact remains...a LOT OF PEOPLE are watching. That's kind of weird behavior for a lot of those folks who seem so certain Boise St. will fade into the night once Kellen Moore graduates. You would think that if BSU weren't on their radar at all, due to an inevitable and impending disappearing act next year, that they wouldn't even find the time to comment on such a topic...kind of like you find no one commenting on Rod Stewart, Madonna, or Michael J. Fox anymore...that's the nature of irrelevance, no one talks about you because no one cares.

I recently noticed two things on the ESPN boards with both articles concerning BSU & the Big East (not there anymore).

                 1. The first article hit 3,000+ comments hours after its initial release. I'm not sure if it ever

made it to 5,000+ but I strongly suspect it did. The second article hit 5,000+ comments

                      on Day 1.

                 2.  Despite each article being primarily about Big East expansion, well over half the comments

were centered around why Boise St. did not deserve a NCG appearance or some other

point revolving directly around Boise St.

Today I went back to ESPN to see what the peeps were saying now since that has become entertaining to me. The articles were both gone after having been up around 4 days each. Right before leaving the site, I decided (on a whim really), to check the number of comments on other articles. Here is what I found...

Clemson Safety Brown Dismissed from Team   57 comments

Big 12: WVU Invitation Not Tied to 2012 entry   719 comments

Report: LSU-Bama Media Requests near 600   2,607 comments (this is 3rd day of posting)

Understand that the key words in the article title are what drive comments, not the content of the article itself. So while The SEC article is about media requests, many of the comments will be about Alabama, LSU, or their matchup this weekend.

Wow, the Boise St. topics absolutely dwarfed some similar hot-topic level conversations. The SEC deemed "NCG" this weekend is pretty big news with a rabid fan following. The WVU to Big 12 article is on par with new Big East Alignment, Clemson was a team in the NCG hunt a couple weeks ago and has a rabid following and long tradition. It's a great time to be a Bronco fan!

This content was not created by OBNUG and therefore may not meet our standards. On the contrary, it probably exceeds them.
