We all know that this will be Kellen's last game on The Blue. But it's also of note that this senior class was the first class fully recruited under Coach Petersen. Coach Pete shied away from talking about it because, there's still a lot of football to be played everyone, but we all know that this class has meant something special for him.
If you want to be there to experience the moment and don't have a ticket, Boise State just released 1,500 student tickets for this weekend's game so go grab some if you're in town.
Kellen joins Andrew Luck and Trent Richardson as the 3 finalists for the Maxwell Award that goes to the nation's best overall player but is separate from the Heisman. However, Kellen was not named a finalist for the Davey O'Brien Award that is given to the nation's best quarterback. That went to Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III and Case Kennum. Somehow he could be the nation's best player but not best quarterback. My theory? That punt on Saturday showed his overall skills and vaulted him into the top overall players.
Arizona AD Greg Byrne went all "techy" with his announcement and announced it via twitter and a picture of Rich Rod in a Arizona hat. Glad to finally put an end to the speculation that Coach Pete would take the job. One college administrator told Dan Wetzel that it would take dynamite to get Petersen out of Boise. I hope he meant literally. He also went on to say that Petersen isn't even considering other jobs. Now that's not ironclad but it's sure good to hear.
The overall damage was estimated at close to $400,000 but they also took a signed Kellen Moore Boise State jersey. I say throw the book at them and give them the maximum!
This is from Saturday night. After Baylor upset Oklahoma, one determined fan rushed the field on her crutches. Now she's famous.
