I simply cannot believe it.
The final round of voting for the Davey O'Brien Award opened this afternoon. Kellen Moore led the nation's quarterbacks in fan voting for rounds 1 and 2, easily outdistancing his fellow quarterbacks by substantial margins. Clearly, he is the nation's favorite. Yet, today, he is not even named as one of the three finalists by the selection committee. Those slots went to Case Keenum, Andrew Luck, and Robert Griffin III.
I know I'm preaching to the choir here, so I won't name Kellen's simply outstanding, once-in-a-lifetime performance. The most winning quarterback in the HISTORY OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL! But I find it just another example of the disrespect he and our Broncos are afforded by the rest of the nation. Yeah, it adds another chip to the substantial pile on our shoulders, and that might be motivation for the future, but right now I just want to declare war on the rest of the snobs out there. Bad word, bad word, bad word in spades!
Kellen, we're sorry, but we know you'll take it in stride, as you always do. You're an amazing man, and we love you for what you've done and for what you've taught us. We will never forget you, and thank you for the fantastic memories!
