OBNUG Pick 'Em: Week Nine Results and Week Ten Games
This week, you and the word finally get to make a choice in the most important question you might ever be asked by a guy dressed as Verne Lundquist: LSU or Alabama?
The Game of the Century of Week 10 is finally here (first-runner-up: Boise State vs. UNLV), so choose wisely when placing your picks. There is a Boise State football jersey and bragging rights at stake. With a lot of movement in this week's leaderboard, where do you stand? Can @SmurfTurfAddict hang onto first much longer? Are you in position to make a late season run for the top spot?
Join me below to take a look at the updated standings as well as what this week has in store.

Weekly prizes are awarded as well.
Hugs and handshakes to OBNUG member broncotough with a very impressive 18. User firstdown was close but no cigar with a score of 17.
Now onto this week's picks ...
Stone cold lock of the century of the week
You have got to be kidding me about last week's USC pick. If it wasn't for USC's horrible clock management, they would have had a chance to win outright. Then, USC didn't just lose but they lost in the 3rd OT after Stanford had already gone for 2 and got it. That meant Stanford won by 8 instead of 7 or 6 if they had gone second in the last OT. Stupid 7.5 point spread. This is why gamblers only live to be 35 years old (this, and drugs).
Anyways, onto this week.
(1) LSU (+ 5.0) OVER (2) Alabama
I think LSU wins this game. LSU's defense is just too good, and I feel like they will make it priority to take away the Alabama running game and force McCarron to pass. This pick is also based partially on what I want to happen, as an LSU win is probably the best for Boise State in the long run.

Reminder: picks are made against the spread. Also, gambling is illegal and you definitely shouldn't do it unless you're fairly confident you can make a couple bucks.

Bonus game
Not all games can fit into Yahoo's weekly Pick 'Em board, especially not the WAC ones that no one cares about. Well, we care about them. This week's bonus game:
San Jose State as a pick 'em at home OVER Idaho
Idaho very nearly beat Hawaii at home, falling by a score of 16-14, but that means Idaho covered the line. This week I was thinking about picking Idaho if they were not favored, but as a pick 'em, I just can't bring myself to actually pick them to win. Besides, San Jose State is .500 in the WAC this year.

Mountain West is a -2 spread
Both Boise and AirForce fly South and East. Boise stadium doesn’t hold traveling fan bases so why not.
Stanford's Luck will run out
Andrew Luck is so exhausted after playing USC that he will oversleep and miss the team flight. He takes a last-minute plane to Eugene, thinking that Stanford is playing Oregon this week, thereby missing the Oregon State game in Corvallis. His backup will muff the snap deep in his own territory and the ball will roll out the back of the end zone, resulting in a safety.
Final Score: Oregon State 2, Stanford 0.
(Hey, it makes as much sense as anything Mark May says!)

Unfortunately, I Stanford would easily beat Oregon State without Luck...
Fortunately, there’s always a chance that scenario could happen against Oregon in which case, Oregon would likely beat Stanford.

My first inclination is to pick Bama over the Bayou Bengals...
Bama is every bit as solid on defense and I’d put their offense a notch or two up on LSUs. The Tide are just a more well-balanced team. BUT LSU has dominated tough opponents simply by playing excellent defense (Oregon for one). There’s no reason they can’t do it against Bama, too. And consequently, Bama’s offense isn’t all that great. They get the job done for sure but LSU has seen better this season. Where Alabama excels offensively is pounding the ball, grinding the clock and wearing defenses down.
It SHOULD be a good and close game. A low scoring one at that. I’d be surprised to see it go over 30 total points. A crushing defeat by one of them would be ideal, though. Let’s face it, one of these two WILL go to the national championship unless the East beats West in the SECCG.

Actually, I think Bama will win going away...24-6.
Tackling little Lamichael James is a bit different than painful Trent Richardson and as was said, Bama’s defense is just as good as LSU. Saban, though an insufferable egomaniac, is not crazy like Les Miles. Here’s hoping it is a beatdown, either way.
Toledo made me crazy tonight – lost 63-60 to NIU. Over 1500 yards of total offense including return yards. Neither defense was present for duty.
I will root for Alabama or Ohio State if they play the Chinese...maybe.
I will root for Auburn if they play Al Qaida, Hamas or the Phillies
