Someone on ESPN has probably already done the breakdown of what the BCS might/will look like next week, but I could not find it so I did the work myslef. So far we know what the results of The Coaches Poll, The Harris and four of the six Computer Polls.
After averaging everything out here are the results of what the BCS rankings would look like if they came out today.*
- Alabama.............96.04%
- LSU....................95.12%
- Oklahoma...........95.34%
- Oklahoma State...82.66%
- Boise State.........80.65%
- Wisconsin............76.04%
- Clemson..............74.80%
- Stanford...............70.20%
- Michigan..............60.65%
- Arkansas.............56.36%
*Two of the six computer polls have not come out yet. Since the highest and lowest computer polls are thrown out, we have between 2-4 of the four computer polls that will be used in the BCS calculations.
As you can see the top three teams (Alabama, LSU and Oklahoma) are close together in the polls. If they all 3 continue to win games they will most likely flip flop amongst themselves, but stay in the top three. From there the next four teams (Oklahoma State, BSU, Wisconsin and Clemson) are evenly spread out with 2-3 points between each of them. Our BCS numbers might change a little with the additions with the 2 other computer polls, but I would expect BSU to be 4th - 6th in the BCS standings when they are released next week. Stanford is in no mans land at 8th spot. Also I would not expect Oregon to be in the top 10 of the BCS rankings next week because they are polling so low in the computer rankings (26th in one and 35ish in the other).
Here is the breakdown of how all of the polls looked. Please note that on the four computer polls the numbers are inverted on a 25 point scale (it is how it is done in the BCS). So if you were in 1st place you received 25 points, 24 points for 2nd, 23 points for 3rd, 1 point for 25th and 0 points for 26th and lower.
