Uniform Issue Has Boise State Coach Chris Petersen Seeing Green
It was odd and slightly irritating for Boise State coaches and players to receive a preseason mandate from the Mountain West Conference that the team couldn’t wear its all-blue uniforms at home because they blend in with the field’s blue turf. It has done so for years.
In a lighthearted moment in a conference call with CSU media today, Boise State coach Chris Petersen was asked if he’d think about putting his team in all-blue because CSU is going to wear all-white for the game between the two teams on Saturday.
“I’m just glad they’re not wearing their all-green because I would have to file a protest, green on green,” he said. “So, I think that makes it easier on everybody. I’m waiting for the Mountain West Conference to tell them they can’t do that.”
In fact CSU has worn all green on its football field this season – Oct. 1 against San Jose State.
