SB Day 2: Titus Boosting His Draft Stock! Pettis Isn't Hurting Himself

Titus is catching people's attention but Pettis is in the middle of the pack. I guess you don't appreciate Pettis until he makes a one handed catch with a defender on his back. Here are some random quotes from the second day of practice.

It's still early so there should be a lot more info out later today.

WR Titus Young, Boise State - The speedster needs to establish that he's got a command of the route tree, but he'd better start the second day of practice with better hands. Young dropped a key pass and seemed distracted by his mistakes. If he wants to live up to the Johnny Knox(notes) and Mike Wallace(notes) comparisons he's received. Young must start to turn it around.

-Titus Young impressed in practice today. He was very quick and shifty in and out of his routes. He was blowing by the defensive backs and making great adjustments on the ball.

Pettis                                                                                                                                                                                        Monday Practice Notes: Made some nice catches but showed minimal speed and quickness.   Did a solid job holding on field goals.                                                                                                                                                           Tuesday Practice Notes: Ran better routes and showed the ability to get separation from defenders.  Real reliable hands.

Titus                                                                                                                                                                                             Monday Practice Notes: Young looked spectacular at the beginning of practice.  He was the quickest, fastest and most explosive of all the receivers.  Easily beat defenders off the snap then got a step on them down the field.  Unfortunately as the day proceeded Young dropped more and more passes.

Tuesday Practice Notes: Much more consistent catching the ball.  Far and away the quickest, fastest and best route runner on the North.
