I can't help but feel the one piece of the arsenal that Boise lacks is the smash mouth, up the gut, punishing full back. In my humble opinion, that's what coach Chris needs to look for in his recruiting ventures.
Im 46 and those other fans here in my age group will probably remember on pro player that fits this description to the enth degree. Otis Anderson. Remember those great NY Giants teams? He was the 3rd and short guy. He never had great speed-even as a rookie- but that wasn;t his forte anyway. He was a punishing runner. Listed a RB he was actually a FB that when the defender was about to make contact with him, he delivered an uppercut forearm shiver to their chin. In short, tackling him had consequences to it! There are alot of ex NFL linebackers, corners and safeties that can attest to that fact.
That- in my humble opinion- is what Boise needs. It will force the opposing D's to play the line and help loosen up that secondary. This combined with the Bronc's passing attack would be a sensational combination.
There are lots of those type of backs out there that never get noticed in lieu of the speed guys that are so highly sought. And alot would jump on the chance to play for a winning team like Boise.
