What if Earl says, "PPD due to me"?
Think about the impact to the rankings and NC-hype if Earl blows in and either lingers or drops lotso tears etc. If i knew how to construct a poll here, i would cross-tab respondants from both schools with "having game as scheduled/no PPD" or "rescheduling in December after regular season". Which scenario provides a more intriguing drama and which benefits the Broncos the best? Now or Later? poll-maker opportunity for someone...

A few years ago, we played Texas A&M in a hurricane
What we are hearing is that Earl is not going to get to Washington due to a cold front moving into the area. This is going to push it off the coast and keep it out of the picture for Monday.
If it does got through Washington it will mean a wet game with lots of wind. We’ve played those games before. I found a way to protect your drink is to put your hand over the top of it and it won’t get too wet.
Alec: Chris, did you really buy a $1400 toilet?
Chris: Yeah, it's great. It's Japanese and has those little warm water jets that clean the undercarriage.
Eric: Chris, it's a toilet, you shit in it.

that’s sound advice… and probably a more relevant issue for both sides anyway

hee,hee, I read "PPD"
as “permanent partial disability” . . a phrase frequently used in workers’ compensation matters. And I said, “huh? wtf?” . . then read the post and realized, DOLT, that is “postponed”. (It is nice to laugh at myself, beats others to the punch!)

ha, silly you...
…but, alas…I read it as PPD…the shot you get to test for tuberculosis…
Let the Media's excuse begin...again: "It was Boise State's first game of the year!" whilst completely ignoring that it was VaTech's first game, as well.

But IF it got delayed...
was my initial curiosity.
Could there be more pollster-ranking BSU benefit in wating for the game to occur at the end of the season rather than remember what thought they thought of it “way back” in September…

It's supposed to be WAY past there come Monday...
…the real issue is for Boise getting there…supposed to be in the actual area come Friday (when team is supposed to arrive).
So, not worries about postponing game…but postponing flight for team could seriously hurt…if anything, they should leave early…like NOW!

1700 EST advisory
has moved the track slightly west . . . well past the VA/DC/MD coast by Saturday. Earl is a dangerous CAT 3/4, with hurricane force winds extending up to 90 miles from the eye with sustained winds at 135. The storm track has Earl brushing the Outer Banks of North Carolina late tonight/early tomorrow and continuing in a east by northeast direction, moving offshore. Air travel into DC should not be affected as the current track does not the center of Earl within 100 miles of DC. As an aside, the day following a hurricane is generally clear and mild. No, I am not any sort of weather expert, just someone who has lived their entire life along one coast or another . . until recently :(

Explains your handle well.
My husband retired from the Navy and got a job as a contracto at Nellis AFB.
That puts us smack dab in the middle of the desert. I have had to resort to buying frozen shrimp and eating at chain “seafood” restaurants. (And, actually “McDammit” is a combination of a character from Rocky Horror Picture Show and my married name . . . )

Frozen shrimp and "seafood' restaurants, huh?
I know of this privation you speak of. Still love your handle, dammit.
You should start up a fast seafood chain
Call it McDammit’s.
:)
BSU don't need smoke and mirrors to get the job done, they got orange pants.
