I'm withholding judgement. I think including the Corps of Cadets is a nice touch. Black helmets might be cool. I didn't know I had to type 75 words.
Did anyone see Inception? So was it real or was it a dream. Hard to tell. Kind of wierd movie. Is the top falling or just wobbling. Kind of a Sopranos ending. I'm OK with that but the wife... The kids are in Gatlinburg Tennessee with my in-laws being forced to watch country music shows. They are not happy....

gatlinburg… i hate that place. and pigeon forge. everyone is always like, but Dollywood!… uh, dollywood is for old people or women who are scared to ride rides.. go to a real theme park please.. that whole place is just go kart tracks next to crappy motels next to random tourist traps.. its horrible.

My in-laws would live in Branson if they could so Gatlinburg is the next best thing

I think once the word gets out
that the black is homage to the Corps of Cadets that most people will get past the “we don’t have black as one of our colors”. I know I have dismissed my original reservations about the black now that I have this additional information.
Ever since the founding of the Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College in 1872, there has been a Corps of Cadets. Also VPISU is recognized under federal law as one of six senior military colleges in the country, separate and apart from the service academies. Only one other program like it exists in the country and that is at Texas A&M. Also, by doing so, Nike has continued/expounded upon the “UT PROSIM” from last year’s uniforms.

I am just really starting to hate these uniforms. You usually can’t go wrong with a black uniform – but, somehow Nike got it wrong.
Why bright orange? Ugh.
Many think they are the coolest of the bunch, but ...
I don’t understand the prominent orange. If my therapist was playing word-association with me and said ‘maroon’ it would say ‘Virginia Tech’; and there is so little in these uniforms.
You can say they are homage to the Corp of Cadets, but how? I’m not seeing it. Are the orange on the sleeves a reminder of the Cadets’ stripes? Do the Cadets have other iconic dress that is black (the picture is a navy blue, white pants). Really, just wondering.
I think the unis make the players look like cyborgs (in a good way).

The blue and white is the "dress" uniforms for cadets.
Their everyday uniforms (utility) are grey pants with a black stripe and grey shirt with black trim. Va Tech’s Corps of Cadets (COC) wear their uniforms everyday. One day of the week (I’m not exactly sure which) they wear their respective service utility uniform. The remaining weekdays, they wear the COC utility uniform (grey/black). This is different than most ROTC programs and why Va Tech is one of six “senior military colleges” as designated under federal law. It is also possible to be a member of the COC and not be a member of an armed forces ROTC program. Also, the original football uniforms were black and grey. See this article for a Q&A with Col.
