Colin Cowherd blasted VT today
I didn't hear the broadcast, but apparently he said that VT is overrated and so is Tyrod Taylor. This was part of his diatribe about Boise State not belonging in the national title game if you guys go undefeated because your signature win would have been against an overrated VT. My guess is he was stirring up both fan bases to increase ratings, but I'd say that there are a lot worse places to be than in the featured college football game on the opening weekend of the season. Too bad it wasn't a Saturday night. Maybe College Gameday would have been there instead of in Atlanta for what could be a real snoozefest -- UNC vs. LSU. Personally, I don't really have an opinion about who is or is not overrated or how this game might play out. The teams are different from last year. They have had no common opponents. It's the first game, and on and on. And most football games are won by the team that makes the fewest turnovers. All I know is I will be there two weeks, and I expect a great game.
You all should remember something else: when VT went undefeated in 1999, there were some who said that we "didn't belong" in the title game, in spite of the fact that the team had beaten a ranked opponent by the biggest margin in history -- 62-0 -- had beaten Miami 43-10, and had beaten several other ranked opponents. Some thought that Nebraska "belonged" even though they had lost a game. So we understand where you guys are right now. Beat VT and run the table, I'd say that you will have done enough to play for all the marbles, and I'll be rooting for you guy in every game ... except one.

Cowherd is the Bill O'Reilly of ESPN
He is in love with his own voice. Regardless of the sport or team, Cowherd is probably the biggest turncoat on ESPN. His tune, like always, will change come midseason and he will claim that he never said the things that he actually said. A caller will call in to point that out and he will hang up on him then berate said caller and caller’s team until the commercial break.
Obviously you're not a golfer...
Thanks, Mr. Dad
I was pretty annoyed with Colon Cowhard this morning. He is so full of himself.
He said that Texas has a better player at every position than Boise, which is crap. He said a lot of B.S. today. He had to mention all of Boise’s losses (not many) to make them sound like big losers…. But come on….. Discrediting Oklahoma and TCU and Oregon doesn’t hold water. “Oklahoma was disinterested for the Fiesta bowl.” Yeah right, Cowtard. What team shows up and ISN’T afraid of being embarrassed by a “lesser” team?
I aint listening to that joke anymore….. until 9-7….
Shoot, I hope he isn’t reading this…. He is on that P90-X stuff… OH GOOOOOD!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
K Clint Stitser, who missed three field goals in today’s practice, was waived.
I guarantee he's not on it.
The man was dissing yoga on national TV. You don’t spend more time on anything more than you do Yoga.

Does P90-X cause 'roid rage?
I know it’s supposed to be all natural, but back when BSU won Fiesta Bowl #1, Colin was sort of a voice of reason, and one of the first people I heard on ESPN radio who called Boise to talk to Coach Pete. In fact, when I’d hear his show years ago, he was still a bit of a rabble rouser, but he seemed less….angry. I was hearing him rant the other day, and it actually reminded me of the fact that Rush Limbaugh used to do sports, before he was Rush. As to what ty_ol says about his being a turncoat, it’s funny, because just the other day when Colin was mocking BYU for wanting to go independent, he said a lot of good things about the Broncos, in relation to BYU/MWC supremacy, and how BSU would kill Notre Dame, because independents just can’t recruit like teams in conferences, despite their legacies. I’m looking forward to listening to the ’Herd on the 7th.
definitely agree
There was a point when I would listen to Cowherd a few years ago and then it finally dawned on me: this guy is real annoying and has a tendency to make the same point over… and over… and over…. etc.
Doesn’t he do that show “SportsNation”? I have always wondered the point of that show. Do I care that “60 % of Sports Nation thinks Ohio State will beat Miami”? Does that mean I shouldn’t watch? I know people who watch the show but personally I really don’t see the point.
I’ve given up largely on ESPN in general. I’ll watch it for sports highlights, but I listen to a lot of Sirius sports radio. Mike & Mike in the Morning is about 30 minutes of commercials, 15 minutes of “updates”, and about 15 minutes of sports talk (of which one third of that time is spent teasing whatever is coming up after the next break). Most of ESPN is nothing but overblown coverage of every minute story: ie. Lebron, Favre, etc.

Cowherd is good for entertainment's sake.
His opinions are just that- opinions. I don’t like or dislike the guy for anything he’s said. You’re not going to get in depth analysis on his show, so I don’t expect it.
Anyone who gets upset over anything he says is as immature as he can be.
I didn't like Cowherd in the beginning, and I don't like him now
The guy has been full of hot air from the beginning. And his sports IQ is garbage. I swear he doesn’t do any homework on anything he talks about.

Cowherd is the best....
I think when you look at true, objective sportscasting and commenting, Cowherd is the best out there, maybe not the most popular but he knows the sports arena. I don’t always agree with him either but the guy does his homework and you learn from him. His take on Virginia Tech is 99% accurate, they have a good program but they are not yet in the “great” status. Their schedules over the past 15 years have been carefully crafted for 10 win seasons but they just don’t do well against really good teams. History and statistics don’t lie. If you elimiate the personal agenda and subjectivity of the fans and look strictly at knowledge and talent, Colin is your man. That is why so many folks listen to him.
