Around SBN: Raiders' GM Begins The Purge

MT: Lost

Oh my. Was last night's episode of Lost as amazing to everyone else as it was to me? I feel like the show is getting back to it's central themes -- good vs. evil, redemption, destiny. Now to some of my questions/observations.

The creepiness in this episode was amazing. From the look Flocke shot to Sayid right after Sayid had stabbed him to Claire's singing while in the pit and her comments to Kate about "He's coming" to Sayid's stare down of Ben near the pool. That's not even mentioning the slow motion walk out of the temple at the end with Flocke, Claire and Sayid all exchanging silent nods. Amazing acting all around.

What happened between Sayid and Flocke before Sayid returned to the temple? Did Flocke really "overtake" Sayid because Sayid let him talk first? Sayid definitely looked like a man possessed by the time he returned to the temple.

Are Sayid and Claire under the same kind of influence from Flocke? How come Sawyer isn't? Or Jin? Where is Jin? Was Sayid vulnerable because he had died? Did Claire die previously? Okay, I'm rambling now...

I want to know more about the flight attendant. Was she kidnapped with the children back in season 1? How come she was so quickly inducted into the Others?

Where is Sawyer? I was glad to not see him come walking in with Flocke and Claire but is he back on his own. Has he chosen a side?

Is Jack being setup to fix everything again? Last week's comments from Jacob about Jack having something to do were awfully vague.

Who do you believe? Jacob or Flocke/Smokey/man in black? My heart leans with Jacob but Flocke made some interesting points.

How great is it to see Ben's character totally freaked out because he is not in control? Another great acting job by Michael Emerson. Curious to see how Ben's storyline will play out next week. The previews were sure interesting.

Okay, that's all I have for now. Did I miss something? What are your questions/observations?

Also, saw this come across on Damon Lindeloff's twitter last night

Reading Eddy, Adam and Liz's script. The penultimate episode. Everything I hoped it would be and more. Thrilled and sad at the same time.

Sounds like the final episode is almost done.

LoqueID Tangent

Interesting. My handle Loque comes from the misspelling of Locke. 50 Intern Bucks for anyone who can tell me where from.

He was "sick" before that anyway. That why dogen tried to kill him.

There was a doubt ( both myself and Dogen) about whether Sayid was really “sick”, but last night answered that

Was he “gone” though before Flocke talked to him? Or did Flocke overtake him after that?

Jack's son

any guesses on who the mother is? maybe kate.

by jensen.ben on Mar 3, 2010 12:09 PM PST reply actions

Wha?

We see Jack’s son in the “plane-never-crashed” alternate reality where Kate is still on the lam. His son can’t be Kate’s, and was clearly conceived prior to the whole island fiasco.

by Drew Roberts on Mar 3, 2010 12:47 PM PST up reply actions

if time of conception was relievant

then Jack would have a son in both realities. everything changed, and they all end up crossing pathes. i bet the mother is a character from the show, and i havent ruled out Kate

by jensen.ben on Mar 3, 2010 12:58 PM PST up reply actions

lam=run?

yeah i forgot she was still running from the law. so that is a long shot.

by jensen.ben on Mar 3, 2010 1:15 PM PST up reply actions

Yeah

I think Kate is out of the question seeing as how she is still a fugitive and on the run in Sideways world. Plus they locked eyes at the airport and didn’t seem to know each other.

On EW.com they were positing that the mother could be Juliette and that she wasn’t home when Jack went by because she was out with Sawyer going “dutch” referring to her mumbling when she was dying in Sawyer’s arms back on the island that they should go dutch.

Wait…if the mom was someone that Jack (obviously) knew at least 13 years before the fateful plane trip from Australia, wouldn’t Jack have some sort of reaction to seeing that person on the island? It couldn’t have been someone on the island that we know because the kid is a teenager. Jack always had a kid…he just never mentioned it.

by Drew Roberts on Mar 3, 2010 1:48 PM PST up reply actions

that is a different time line

things are different in a lot of ways. so many events changed becasue the island isnt there anymore nor has it been since it blew up. that is why Ben, Ethan, etc are in LA.

by jensen.ben on Mar 3, 2010 1:52 PM PST up reply actions

I guess you're right about the timeline...I forgot about Ben being at the high school and what not.

However, when it showed the plane flying over the ocean and the island under water…there were still signs of the Dharma folk having been there.

Aw, now I’m all confused.

I think...

It could be the chick who turned down Claire and her baby. She acted as though she had just gotten divored. Jack had clearly just moved into his apartment/condo (my reasoning, he just hooked up the cable..) Sounds a bit crazy maybe, but just a thought. Of course, I don’t know why Jack and her would want to adopt a child if they already have one thats 12-13yrs old, but who knows.

Where is Sawyer? Flocke seemed to give Kate a certain look when she exited the temple at the end of the episode. Kate clearly seemed to recognize something crazy was up with Flocke..

This theory could easily be "tested"

Kate and Claire went to that lady’s house when Kate stole the taxi. Later, Jack went to his son’s mom’s house looking for his kid. Don’t remember the places being similar, but I could be wrong.

by Drew Roberts on Mar 4, 2010 2:14 PM PST up reply actions

true,

I don’t recall them showing much of the ladies house though? Mostly just Claire and Kate in the car, and then a shot from the front door. It was dark when Jack got to David’s mom’s, so it’s hard to say. Just a random thought I had..

Also, we don’t know how far apart these events took place from eachother. Obviously Claire and Kate went to the ladies house the day they got to LA, but Jack and David’s episode could have been a few weeks or a month after for all we know..

by Ihavenofriendzz on Mar 4, 2010 10:07 PM PST up reply actions

went back and...

watched both episodes… Yeah I don’t think the mom could be her. The houses look completely different.

good "lost" resource

http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/David_Shephard/Theories

that is the link on who David’s mother might be, but Lostpedia is always a fun read.

by jensen.ben on Mar 3, 2010 1:49 PM PST reply actions

so...

Apparently no one watched this week’s? Alpert seemingly came to the Island on the Black Rock and He and Jack can’t kill themselves? Possibly because Jacob touched them, which would mean, Hurley, Sawyer, Sayid, and one of the Kwons, can’t kill themselves? Not sure why they’d want to, but…. Also, could it be possible that they can’t age as well?

I was out of town last week but caught up. Can’t wait for tonight’s

what about the new man-is-black

all this talk about who the new Jacob will be, what about the flip side? Maybe Sayid will be the new man in Black.

by jensen.ben on Mar 16, 2010 12:02 PM PDT reply actions

we need a new LOST fanshot

we need to talk about Jacob’s replacement, who will be the new Man in Black, and if Desmond is locked in the submarine or not.

by jensen.ben on Mar 18, 2010 7:10 AM PDT reply actions

interesting..

Not really sure why Desmond would be locked in the submarine or not, but I can’t say I have a theory as to why he wouldn’t be either. I think what’s in the locked room is something we aren’t sure about yet. Like, something that people who “know” the island would know of, not the oceanic/ajira survivors. Who knows though.

Maybe in the end, no one will take the place of Jacob or the man in black?

Maybe it's Michael

He could’ve survived the ship blast too

Hey, LOSTheads, riddle me this:

In the flash sideways, Locke and his fiancee discuss inviting his dad to their upcoming wedding…making it doubtful that Locke’s sideways dad is the one that pushed him out of a window. So…why is sideways Locke in a wheelchair?
