Comments on the Slant
Scott: The Broncos’ game at Idaho November 12 is slated for ESPN2, giving the Vandals an appearance on one of ESPN’s two feature networks for the first time ever in the regular season.
Do the Vandals care if they lose by 50 on national television?
Scott: Tuesday is two days after the weekend, and Thursday is two days before the weekend, so what’s the difference?
TV Ratings.
Scott: Right now the BSU-OSU game remains on Saturday—could it conceivably be the ABC prime time telecast? Could College GameDay finally come to Boise? Uh, does it all depend on what happens on Labor Day against Virginia Tech?
According to this, ESPN also has OSU @ BSU listed as an ABC option. So far, there isn't any listed competition, either. Has USC released their schedule, yet?

Dr. William Block: You gotta lose the arm, Joe.
Joe: Lose the arm? What do you mean, lose the arm? My arm?
USC
plays wazoo that week so that shouldn’t be much of a problem.
a pretty good site, in terms of comprehensive schedules, appears to be http://www.thefootballschedule.com/. It doesn’t give you the exact dates, just lists games by week, (and isn’t fully complete yet, particularly for non-BCS teams), but still.
Unless anything else changes, as far as I can see the BSU/OSU game looks like it could be one of the best, assuming both BSU and OSU are undefeated up to that point (doubt we’d get the ABC game in any case, but still could bring in Gameday, maybe). Other possibilities:
Stanford/Notre Dame
Texas/UCLA
Oregon/Arizona State
Cal/Arizona
Alabama/Arkansas
Oklahoma/Cincinatti
West Virginia/LSU
Miami/Pitt
UNC/Rutgers
And a few others, but those look most likely as possible alternate games competing for the BSU/OSU one.
