WAC releases ESPN schedule, Boise State with six featured games

Joe Tessitore should be very pleased with this
Tessitore is ESPN's resident Friday night voice .. unfortunately. He and partner-in-yuks Rod Gilmore get the Broncos for the final three weeks of the regular season thanks to a string of Friday night contests against Idaho, Fresno, and Nevada. Maybe Tessitore will figure out that Kellen Moore is left-handed by the Nevada game. Or maybe not. He has a lot on his plate what with that fantasy team he keeps talking about.

Boise State will play into December once again
Thanks to a Labor Day Monday showdown with VaTech and a Tuesday night game Louisiana Tech, the Broncos have two sort-of-byes during the season, meaning they will be playing a December game for the second year in a row. Not only that, but a December game that probably won't matter at all. Who do you want it to be against?
A Tuesday night game!
Imagine that!
Thoughts?
Are you happy that ESPN and the WAC chose a rematch of Boise State and Nevada for its de facto WAC championship? Surprised that the Worldwide Leader would want to send a crew to Moscow again? A little bit guilty that Boise State gets so much attention? Share your thoughts in the comments.

bring hawaii to boise in december
finish the year against a team with some sort of cred, even tho it aint much.
i love watching the broncos play on espn/espn2. i mean we do get A LOT of attention but everyone knows that the WAC Title goes through Boise and ESPN wants to be the network to televise the game when BSU does tumble. Nevada has been the closest team to do that but I cant see BSU losing a WAC game for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time.
when will ktvb brings its bronco football broadcasts into the 21st century? maybe some announcers with football knowledge and arent so biased. its cool they have excellent knowledge of the bronco program and love them so much but a little objectivity and friendly back and forth banter would be nice. and maybe some cameras that dont bug out and does anyone remember watching the game last season and they did a tates rents type of promo and showed their sideline camera on the back of a makeshift atv with a cab made of a piece of cardboard and nails? lol we as fans deserve so much better than that.
I Want Games in HD!!

KTVB May Be The Home of BSU For the Next Five Years
…but it’s not a slam dunk that their in-house “talent” will be used. The new contract with Learfield gives them (Learfield) alot of leeway when it comes to picking the radio and TV talking heads for football and basketball.

Honestly, I can live with Mark Johnson and Tom Scott if......
KTVB could broadcast the games in HD. Please no more games in digital widescreen!!
"Hell, I can get you a toe by 3 o'clock this afternoon... with nail polish."
It COULD happen
I agree, digital widescreen just doesn’t cut it when you’re playing on the blue. Learfield will be in charge of the production, on air talent, the whole shebang for this season’s games. So it could indeed be in HD on KTVB!

HD?
I would accept regular D. What KTVB broadcasts is ug-ly, low-definition, 1980s-era fuzzy blah.

Tuesday?!
Really? What’s next, a Saturday game followed by a Wednesday game? Hmmm, not sure what I think about Tuesday night…

I shall gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today
said by none other than WIMPIE!
Our last game will be vs. USU or Hawaii.

Oregon State game on ABC?
This is throwing me off… the Oregon State game (according to you and KTVB.com) is listed as airing on ABC/ESPN/ESPN2? Does this mean it will be simulcast on ALL 3 networks? Or have they not chosen yet, hence the TBA? I’d like to see it broadcast on the ABC network, the more national network TV exposure, the better.

it means they haven't decided yet
or it could be regionally on ABC, but on ESPN or ESPN2 for everyone else.
make sense?

be afraid of the kibbie dome, very afraid. lol.
on a serious note wyoming will be much improved but not enough to beat bsu.
I'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. I was building a house, I don't deserve this, deserves have nothing to do with it. Bang. "Unforgiven" I drink your milkshake. I drink it up! "There Will BE Blood"

Wyo always plays a physical game
Their last visit on the blue was tougher than score indicates
it's tough to play at 7100 feet too.
their qb is quick and accurate. they run the spread offense and they added some juco wr’s. they will be better.

Wyo has always impressed me with their conditioning.
When Dinwiddie was QB they came here with a team that was almost entirely Frosh and soph. Gave us all we wanted.
Yeah.
Didn’t we visit them on our 2006 run to the Fiesta? I couldn’t watch it anywhere, but heard a defensive game on the radio (if I’m thinking right… that’s not always the case).
"Everyone counted us out. I don't know why they keep doing that." -- Kyle Wilson
Yes we did. 17-10. I watched it at a sports bar.
BSU don't need smoke and mirrors to get the job done, they got orange pants.
Where to watch
Lets say you are a Boise State fan that lives in Southern Idaho but because of work you are having to move to Moscow during the football season. (I don’t know how I angered God to be sent to the 9th circle in Dante’ Inferno aka Moscow between August and January) How do you watch the games not broadcasted nationally in Moscow.
This might help
Not totally sure if this is the same, but I have a friend who currently lives in Pullman. Some station up there re-broadcasts KTVB and all the Bronco games. I watched the San Jose game up there this last year. Not sure if Moscow is the same, but it wouldn’t surprise me if you could get it there too.

I'm in Chicago
If all else fails you can pull up a live (albeit crummy) feed or replay on espn360.com. They even have the KTVB games on there, though I’m not sure if they’re up right away. Hope that helps.
With five home games on ESPN
season ticket sales are going to take a big hit.
"...east and west is the problem, north and south the solution."
don't think so...
Ore St, La Tech and Fresno on the blue.
Va Tech, Idaho and Nevada are road games.
3 home and three away seems like a normal year. ESPN home games have generally sold well: Oregon, OreSt, Fresno etc are generally the sellouts. And with season tickets, you get all of them or you get none. Even if the bottom of the WAC game have empty seats, the bulk of them are still paid for. Even empty seats in the student section are already paid for through student fees.
I predict…..season tickets numbers will be the highest ever. Last year had ticket price hikes and additional seats. This year, the hype is at an all time high.

dude
Students are really gonna have to come through in attendance next year. How bad does that look to the unbelievers? “Look, their own students don’t come to the games.” No excuses, even the “playing weak teams” excuse. When I was a student I took advantage of every chance to attend football games for free, even the ones played against weak teams (because I enjoyed watching BSU beat the living crap out of them).
by hummerofdoom on Mar 16, 2010 8:27 PM PDT up reply actions
Amen.
They should AT LEAST get tickets and scalp them to those looking or give them to free for those sitting in their luxury RV’s outside.
"Everyone counted us out. I don't know why they keep doing that." -- Kyle Wilson
how would that work?
Don’t students have to present their ID along with their ticket?
Haven’t been a student in a long time, so maybe policy has changed.

Can we give it up for:
NO DIV 1-AA GAMES! (thank you for having Hawaii at home this year)
"Everyone counted us out. I don't know why they keep doing that." -- Kyle Wilson
There are some decent OOC games for other WAC schools.
It would be nice if some of them would step up and represent to the point that BSU doesn’t get kicked around all year for their strength-of-schedule do the the embarrisingly weak WAC teams. The USC at Hawaii and Cinci at Fresno games could go along way in getting things started in the right direction.
Come on WAC, we need a little help from some of the other teams!!!
Is this the first time we will play on ESPN on a Saturday?
If so, I think that is another sign we are moving up in the college football world. We no longer have to be relegated to another day of the week for the WWL to deem us worthy of national coverage, even if it is only for one game.
