Chip Kelly's Definition of "Season"
Does anyone think Masoli will actually be gone for the year or is this another Blount situation?
The only reason I feel he will actually be gone for the full year is that Masoli will be able to use his redshirt and essentially avoid losing any eligibility.
Things are really out of control up there. Did anyone listen to Kelly and local Portland sports talk show host, Jon Canzano go at it a couple of weeks ago? Canzano basically called out Kelly for kicking that linebacker who got the DUI off the team immediately but waiting to punish James.

Hard to believe that James got a mere slap on the wrist.
Blount punched an opponent—"year long" suspension (9-10 games).
James assaulted a woman—"you don’t get to play a meaningless game against UNM"
Masoli
Masoli has quite a history of making bad decisions, this is just a continuation.
James got a bad deal on this, it was a revenge thing from some fight with his girlfriend.
CK is on his heels and really does not know how to react to all this nonsense. The pressure from Phil Knight at Nike must be overwhelming. Phil is wired at the games to help call plays and they have strategy meetings with coaches at Phil’s house. After all he is the best owner in college football.
The legal pressure from Blount’s attorney was too much to handle so he caved in and let the idiot play a couple of games. Masoli will get an attorney also so the suspension seems to be up in the air.
You must remember that UO has a law school and Nike, those two elements make the Ducks, period.

I shall overlook the gratuitous impugning of the legal profession
as your remarks are in the main condign and informative. I was wondering if the recent tax initiative which paeesed despite , and indeed in apparent defiance of, Mr . Knight’s vociferous and impassioned opposition is causing any consternation on the Eugene campus and is there any overlap with regard to the football team’s very public indiscretions.
