MERLIN OLSEN DIED
And all I can think of to post is that he played on the USU team that held Idaho to 23 total yards and beat them 63-0. I must be entirely devoid of any sort of human impulses. I think the OBNUG readership should pay for my therapy-please contact me for details.

A revered member of the "Fearsome Foursome"
He provided some of my earliest pro football memories with the L.A. Rams back in the late 70’s.
and some of mine in the early '60s when I lived in LA
In “Heaven Can Wait” there is a scene with the D-line facing to go at Beatty who bought the team and now wants to play QB. I think its Olsen with Jones, but he wasnt playing when the film was made.
me too
Being an old guy, my first memories of Olsen were also in the 60’s. I used to love watching that front 4 play!

Sad day for football.
I actually met him at “The Big A” before a game back in the mid 80s. He was a great big dude. That was during the Dickerson decline, the Jim Everett debacle, and the Georgia Frontiere drunken years, so the pre-game meet-and-greets were way more exciting than the field action.
Obviously you're not a golfer...
