Basketball Woes
Last night's men's BB game at the Pavilion was an unadulterated disgrace! The BSU basketball program just cannot seem to consistently achieve harmony. We were outplayed in every aspect of the game by an average Idaho team, eventually losing by 24. Why does this happen? Is it the coaching or lack of recruiting competitive players? I'm gonna say it's half coaching, half recruiting. That also translates to diminished fan support. With less than 8,000 coming out for the game, we left over 4,000 empty seats for our rival and biggest home game of the year. Idaho fans filled about 40% of the Pavilion. That stinks. This program needs new energy to compete with the football team. What is the next step for Greg Graham?
This content was not created by OBNUG and therefore may not meet our standards. On the contrary, it probably exceeds them.

Embarrassing to watch
Are we even going to make the WAC tourney, losing at home to one of the worst teams in the league? Very little fire or passion on the court last night. That was the game plan after a week of prep?
Dropped the ball big time
Although not a lot of BSU fans, it was still more than usual. The team showcased how badly they want to steer people away from games… or at least it seemed that way. Montreal was the only one wanting to win, he was head of the press and still outscored his teammates. I’ve never played D-1 basketball, but heading the press is like running suicides, than trying to score after that seems impossible. Kudos to him.

I saw nothing out of those guys last night.
DQ hustled. Moritz looked like he was trying to try hard for a few minutes in the second half, other than that, no heart, no emotion. Just going through the motions. I hate to bash players but after a gutless performance like that it’s hard not to. It’s sad that these guys get to go to school for free to play like that. Crissie’s kids would have played the vandals closer than our team did. FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!! BAD WORD BAD WORD BAD WORD

Agreed
What about Thomas? His last game vs. the Vandals and he was out there acting like it was a scrimmage. There are probably many HS kids in Idaho who will play hard every night for the Broncos, why not recruit them? Stop with the JUCO crap, except for CSI, the team needs to have Freshman and Sophomores who have time to develop.

someone should skip hall greg graham
i recall during the last days of skip hall’s boise state coaching career, someone parked a u-haul truck in his driveway. do you think he’d get the idea?
This is national TV. So don't pick your noses or scratch your nuts.
I'd rather
have Skip Hall coaching our Basketball team than Greg Graham!

Why can Gene Bleymeier not hire a basketball coach?
They’ve virtually batted a thousand since the inception of the football program, but the basketball team in the last decade has stunk on ice more often than not. Graham is the basketball version of Dick Tomey…no fire whatsover. If NMSU and Utah State can hire good basketball coaches, there is absolutely no reason why the Broncos can’t. Not with the facilities advantages and the brand recognition. I went to a game two years ago and was quickly reminded why I hadn’t been in a long time. Graham-coached teams have maybe one good half of basketball in them. Bo-ring.
I'm not a basketball wizard
But when your down by 10+ and giving up turnovers every possession, why not ditch the whole transitional game and slow it down in favor of some pick and rolls, or maybe some post up play? There is a time and place for the fast break game and its not when your down by 16 in the first half. The team has plenty of talent, we just need a ‘coach-pete-of-basketball’’ type to come in and provide some consistency, get those tickets selling in the TBA, raise BSU’s overall athletic program.

New Coach Now!
I had been a season BB ticket holder since 1983. I attended every NCAA appearance by the team since then: Salt Lake, Sacramento, Salt Lake and Birmingham, as well as traveling to many Big Sky, Big West and WAC tournaments. Suffice to say, I am (was) a big Bronco BB fan.
However, my continued disgust with incompetent coaching caused me to drop my season tickets in 2007. I no longer attend games and rarely read about the team. Coach Graham has taken something from me: a fervent interest in Boise State Basketball.
We need a young, vibrant, energetic and knowledgeable person with the ability to inspire players and fans. I can’t believe that there aren’t many such coaches who would kill to lead a Boise State program to prominence.
I hear that a priority for athletic improvements at BSU is to improve locker room facilities at Taco Bell Arena. May I suggest that we replace that priority with buying out
Graham’s contract?!?!
I'm on my way
And i’m bringing chicago kids with me. It’s gunna be a school of rick, Jack Black vs. The Devil scrimmage between Graham and his Juco transfers, and myself and 5 random chicago players. The betting line starts at -19.5

Okay I didn't read any of the other comments cause it makes me mad, but...
Ike Okoye needs someone to motivate him. He is a good player when he is motivated. Graham is not a motivator. I’ve been to a handful of games, including the Idaho game. In that game there were plenty of questionable fouls that everyone in the crowd got on the refs for except for Graham. That gets the guys motivated when he shows he wants to be there and wants to fight for the team. The U of I game he should have made a number of moves to prevent the game from getting out of hand in the 1st half. It makes me extremely frustrated. Especially when I have to sit there and listen to the U of I chants. Makes me soooo mad!
