Anyone notice the new BSU roster classification?
They appear to be going the way of Willingham's Washington and the Stanford roster and list the athletes in terms of their academic year, not their eligibility status. Example: Redshirt Freshman Malcolm Johnson is listed as a Sophomore, in anticipation of continued Fall 2010 enrollment. So, the Seniors who redshirt will be listed as Seniors for 2 consecutive years. I guess it shows more commitment to academics. It might get confusing for fans. I don't like it. Thoughts?

Matt Miller was shown as jr even though he just signed
For roster purposes they should show eligibility-we’re looking at football players

Placing Academics 1st is Always the Right Thing To Do
They may think of doing a hybrid that shows Academics 1st and Eligibility 2nd.
That would satisfy everyone.

Agree with both points.
Hybrid would be ideal. Maybe we caught them in data-entry limbo. We’ll see how it pans out in Fall.
Obviously you're not a golfer...
