"For people of earlier generations, the choice of the Broncos over the Fighting Irish is so startling as to approach blasphemy. But when you are a teenager, someone born after the Fighting Irish last won a national championship in 1988 and living in the here and now with a revolving door on the head coach's office, maybe it isn't that much of a stretch."

Ferd Lewis, Honolulu Advertiser sports columnist, on Jeremy Ioane picking the Broncos.

It could be...

That some kids are interested in making history rather than living in it.

I had the exact same thought yesterday, when I was convincing myself he'd pick Boise State.

The last time Notre Dame was relevant, this kid was even around. Now if Rudy is his favorite movie we might have had some problems. I’m guessing it wasn’t.

I agree Drew, when you look comparatively at the two current programs and their status on the college football landscape, I’d pick the Broncos too.

Boise State - The best in all the land (The "land" being Idaho, and large parts of California, Oregon, and Nevada.)

The picture of this kid-Bob Marley by way of Denzel Washington.

Point of article is valid. As a Bronco since ‘68 I can tell you I am a little stunned. On the other hand-we’ve gotten a lot of guys in pros. He may have been thinking Venable, Johnson & Robinson ar eleaving next year. Big openings for safety. Undergrad degrees about as marketable as high school diplomas. PLUS Remember what Matt Miller said-seems like they get in th eBCs every year-something to tha teffect. all the talk about Broncos-will they could they, should they-hey it adds up and pentrates to the 17 year old mind (along with “girls”, gadgets food-not necessarily in that order, and by girls-well you know the euphimism.

One of my favorite comments in this article.

Ioane went to the Warriors’ rival and tormentor.

tormentor. So fitting. I love it.

utah has notre dame this upcoming season.

most likely the new coach will want to start his own recruit and so it will be a freshman qb. i believe utah will beat n.d. by 10 points. they also have pitt and iowa state on their schedule. i think boise could beat n.d. by 21 points if we are talking about this upcoming season.

I'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. I was building a house, I don't deserve this, deserves have nothing to do with it. Bang. "Unforgiven" I drink your milkshake. I drink it up! "There Will BE Blood"
