OBNUG is honoring each Boise State senior this week with a favorite memory. Got one to share? Sign up.
The 2010-11 NCAA college football season has probably been the most physically and emotionally I have ever been invested in any team or any sport in my life. This coming from someone who has been watching sports my entire life, whether it's been college basketball, NFL, the NHL, or Major League Baseball.
My connection to Boise State comes from having my best friend graduate from Boise State back in 2006. Being in the U.S. Navy and currently living in Seattle and not being from Boise, or having gone to school at Boise State personally, I've been called a "bandwagon" fan who only cheers for Boise cause they are winning. Well after...last Friday, my phone and Facebook exploded with messages from people wanting to rub it in face that Boise had lost and how they were glad that they didn't have to hear about how they were a national title contender and how they never deserved a shot anyway. As I attempted to sleep that night, I thought about all of the BSU games that I'd watched this season. So many great memories from this season, even my first time watching the Broncos in person (October 9th vs. Toledo). Here is a picture of my best friend and I (Kellen Moore jersey):
Nothing though compared to the catch by Tommy Galarda in our season opening game against Virginia Tech.
Even though you are going to be going on to bigger and better things in life, in my eyes, I will never forget this tremendous catch while the entire nation watched. So on this, Senior Day at Bronco Stadium, I salute you Tommy Gallarda and all that you have done for the Boise State Broncos.
