Wake up, Bronco Nation: NFL teams make first roster cuts
First off, a hearty thanks to Loque and CaptainBronco for being on top of the NFL cuts. No more Julian Hawkins, no more Jeb Putzier. Ian Johnson and Vinny P. live to fight another day.
I sure hope this Chris Roberson long snapper guy doesn't come into play

Are we Bronco fans a defensive bunch?
Do you think Coach Pete really said "win or loose"?
Mark Jones and Bob Davie on the call ... I thought this was the game of the week?

I agree with Murph....what?
He listed excellent examples of why Boise State fans can be defensive.
I too believe Broncos fans have a right to be a defensive. I get tired of the same old lame comments about JC status, smurf turf, trick plays, weak conference, easy schedule, blah blah blah…
Boise State has proven to be a winner at every level of college football they have played at, period.
You can’t discount that.
Boise State - The best in all the land (The "land" being Idaho, and large parts of California, Oregon, and Nevada.)
Did Murphy have a ghost writer?
He actually has an article set in context, without hyperbole and shows some awareness that the program at BSU has more depth than just gimmicks and trick plays.
If anything, Boise State fans are impatient, especially those coming on in the last few years. BSU has been successful at every level and has done it in a short time period. It may take a little longer for BSU to earn the respect so many fans think they deserve.
If anything, I tend to be defensive about the, “you don’t play anybody” comments that come from fans of BCS teams. Yes, Gene has been stubborn in his out of conference scheduling, but the big boys haven’t been lining up to play the Broncos either. Case in point, Oregon. They had a chance to extend the series with another ‘home and home’ and chose Nevada instead. BSU’s only chance to play BCS teams is to travel to the eastern time zone for a one and done.
As a fan, I would love to see them bring in some marquee teams, but I don’t think a program has schedule like Fresno St to prove that they are good. A talented team is a talented team even if they play a weaker schedule. If this year’s Florida team played BSU’s schedule, they would still be considered the most talented team in CFB. Schedule helps a team get recognized, but it doesn’t make them any more talented.

The Fresno QB story link goes to the Ames story.
But I did find this quote on Fresno State’s Facebook site:
"As I met with the quarterbacks I made it very clear I don’t want them looking over their shoulder," said Hill. "I don’t want them thinking they have to impress us. They need to execute the offense and let the game come to them. I also made it clear that because of our talent at quarterback if the team is struggling or for some reason the quarterback productivity is lacking, I will not hesitate to bring in the back-up if I feel he can change the game and win for us. I would have done that in the past if I felt we had that type of player on the sideline."
An then this quote from the Fresno Bee:
“There are times when a starting pitcher is pulled for a relief pitcher,” Hill said. “We’re in a position now, we can bring someone off the bench and hopefully win the game for us.”
So you don’t want the starter looking over his shoulder, but you will always have someone warming up in the bullpen? Now I feel a lot better about playing Fresno in the month of September.
"...east and west is the problem, north and south the solution."
He has to.
"There are times when a starting pitcher is pulled for a relief pitcher," Hill said. "We’re in a position now, we can bring someone off the bench and hopefully win the game for us."
This sounds very much like what the WAC had to do against us all season last year. Gerald Alexander or Funaki? GTech transfer to La Tech or whoever is in there now (I’m at school, I’m not looking it up).
My guess is that Boise State will make it easy for Coach Hill to use both quarterbacks. Although, come third quarter, we’ll probably have to be using our 2nd/3rd stringers, too.

Greg Alexander, but I get your point...

Thanks, fixed the link
Yes, I’m not sure when Pat Hill crossed the line from genius coach to quasi-nutjob, but he’s definitely crossed it.
On a brighter note, Tom Brandstater is starting for the Denver Broncos this weekend!
