Canadian Bacon received a consecutive sentence from Coach Pete.

Apparently Michael Atkinson's punishment may not start on Sept. 3rd. I found this in Tom Scott's preverbial treasure trove of information. Coach Pete has an unusual, albeit, understandable approach to disciplinary action. Consecutive sentencing. No credit for time served. Read on,

The timing of Michael Atkinson's suspension for last week's DUI will depend upon his ankle. Petersen has said it will be "at least three games," but he also said the meter doesn't run until Atkinson's healthy. So it's not a case of sitting out three games he would have missed anyway due to the ankle injury he suffered at home in Canada before summer workouts began. For example, if Atkinson wasn't going to be able to play against Oregon anyway, Petersen said that would delay the start of the suspension. Pete holds out hope that this bad experience will ultimately benefit Atkinson. Kyle Wilson was suspended the first three games of his freshman year, and look at him now. "This can be a life-changing mistake that can make (Atkinson) a much better person down the road," said Petersen.-Scott Slant

So there is the probability that he is gone for more than 3 weeks. Anyone know how this might affect the D-line rotation? Will it matter?
