ONLY 10.5 against Fresno? I’m thinking of jumping all over that one. Kevan, let’s talk. I’m sure this OBNUG thing has made you ultra rich. Loan me some money.
Oregon seems about right (maybe a touch low). The Tulsa game seems awfully low to me. Tulsa was one of the worst defenses in FBS last year. Moore should have a big day.
No way I would do anything on the Hawaii game. I know the Warriors are one of the worst teams in CFB this year, but weird things happen over there. Plus, I’m not sure if the handicappers adjust for the amount of trash blowing on the field.

MooreWalksOnWater...
Perhaps this guy will make more of difference in this game than most OBNUG poster want to admit. It just may cause to fill that Xanax prescription a little faster…
Masoli: ""Your body gets sore real fast"
Yup. Sounds like he’s getting ready for the game, all right. :)

It so hard for you to admit...
c’mon, let your true feeling out. He scares you more than you want to let on. It’s good for the soul.
There's a good chance the Hawaii game may be "off" due to trash day being on a Friday
I’d take the Tulsa line in a heartbeat. I’m going to pretend the Oregon line doesn’t exist. 10.5 vs. Fresno is generous at this point. The last two times BSU has been to Hawaii bad things have happened.

Notre Dame playing tough football again? I thought Charley Weiss was on his way out and now the odds makers are saying he really can win football games? Wuddayaknowboutdat?
The Nugget’s early odds of BSU over Oregon seems right. And Oklahoma rolling BYU is likely correct even though playing in Texas is really NOT like playing on a neutral field. The idea that Washington is going to play tough too? Well, this old country boy will just have to wait and see. Their new HC, old what’s his name, may be able to pull off in his first year but…
I hope the Bronco's don't look past the ducks -
With Toledo, UC Davis and Miami (OH) on tap after the Ducks, I hope (for your sake) you don’t look past Oregon.
Just a gut feeling here, but I think the Ducks have more than an outside chance of beating the spread on this puppy.
For you died in the wool Bronco fans, I think the odds are it’ll go like this;
1st Quarter: You will be hopeful, thrilled and very excited
2nd Quarter: You will be very, very worried – borderline hopeless
Halftime: You will go to the concession stands, get consolation from other fans – maybe restore some hope
3rd Quarter: You will be in a complete state of demoralization
4th Quarter: You will make several decisions about what you won’t do; (Read the Friday morning paper, be in front of TV, Radio or internet for a week)
At home: You will kick your dog and declare: "That Coach Brooks guy must be a psychic or something…"

The Broncos don’t look past anybody, ever. Sorry to burst your bubble. Our coaches know how to do it.

Easy Now, quit picking on the little guy
Just having a little fun man – We’re just humble under-dogs hoping to can keep it close against the Big-Bad Favorites
You should be embarrassed Coach Brooks. You stole that statement from our yearbook. Only last year we weren’t even perceived to be a top 30 team in YOUR house.
I think everyone needs to take a little bite of humble pie...
the betting line is set close because the two teams are so evenly matched.
70-5
Boise State simply does not lose at home that often.
They’re currently riding a 19 game home win streak.
Should we worry about a performance reminiscent @Washington, 2007…absolutely.
Would I take the four points?…Absolutely.

this isn’t about BSU having a mediocre performance. If Oregon is firing on all cylinders…good luck. Your defense isn’t as good as last year’s Oregon State or Arizona defense. We averaged 60 points in those games.
Boise State's defense is a good as last years Boise State defense...
And it seems that was enough to keep it 37-13 for 3 quarters IN Autzen. And enough to hold them off, and get out of there with a win. Oregon is the only team that put more than 17 on the Broncos last year, that I’ll give you.
But if you respond with the “we had our 4th string QB in” excuse, I’ll ask you to walk in front of a bus.
All things being equal, none of that matters anyway. This is 2009. Putting 60 on defenses that were nowhere near Boise State’s a year ago means diddly right now.
If Oregon is firing on all cylinders…
Thats is what the experts said last year…IN AUTZEN…WITH MR. 4TH STRING…
Bottom line, this game is on The Blue. Where the best homefield in college football happens to reside at present. For the Quacks to bring down Boise State at home (which is not outside the realm of possibility…but it is sitting out there holding hands with it), the Broncos will have to help them out along the way. If Boise State is turnover free, and pardon the expression, if they’re firing on all cylinders…good luck.

You analysis is downright myopic...
go look at how many players Oregon State put in to the draft. It’s easy to pad stats when you play in the WAC. Oregon State pasted Hawaii. We had our entire walk-on playing the second half against USU. So, don’t give that bullsh*t that BSU’s defense was good last year. Any team worth a lick put up yards (Oregon, Nevada, TCU, et al.). I will spell this out for you: Keenan Lewis (cornerback 4th round), Victor Butler-Reed (defensive End/4th round), Norris Slade (defensive end/5th round), and Al Afalava, the biggest hitter in the conference (safety 6th round) were all defensive side of the ball selections. The Oregon State beavers had many Junior’s on that squad that are projected to be in next year’s draft with notables Stephen Paea (DT that benches 530 pounds-I would rather face Winn) and Keaton Kristick (LB). Their corners ran 4.4 combine times and are over 6 feet tall. Banker, defensive coordinator, spits out one of the best defenses year in and year out. However, we are suppose to think that BSU with Wilson and some returning secondary players are better? You return 3 guys to your front seven against the 2nd best rushing attack from last seaon. Great…Atkinson is 320 pounds, whoa! What are we going to do with the redshirt freshman? We were 4 yards off of 700 total yards against a defense that will put a minimum of 6 draft picks in the NFL from this year to next.
So, yes, if we are firing on all cylinders…watch out. My man, Masoli, will be a huge difference in this gam come sept. 3.

You forgot Brandon Hughes (cornerback, 5th round). So, at minimum they had 7 picks on that team. I almost vomited in my mouth because in proving your point you lauded the Beavs with kudos albeit much deserved.
Note to self: Look up definition of the word myopic.
Short-sighted. Uhm…..ok.
1. The amount of draft picks on said team does not translate to wins in college football.
2. Yard allowed per game, also, does not necessarily translate to winning. As evidenced by the two losing teams you referenced.
3.Benching 530 lbs. once again, not a clear determining factor of a winner. Again, evidenced by you naming an apparent beefcake who wound up on the losing side. Although I admit, its impressive…kinda.
My apparent myopia is not nearly as clouded as yours. Winning football games in 2009 is the issue. Opining about last seasons opponents is not. Glorifying your own team for embarassing future NFL prospects is not impressive, or becoming.
But if you must, go on then…

Read that post again...
1) Oregon State went 9-4 last year with a top 25 finish – so it translated to wins and a very good defense (#23 in total defense playing teams like Penn State, USC, Oregon, Cal, Arizona, etc.). Of course, they were a top 15 team going in to the civil war :).
2) Arizona went 8-5 with a win in the Las Vegas Bowl against BYU and Oreogn State went, again 9-4, so both teams were winning teams in a major conference.
3) Stephen Paea (2nd Team all-pac 10 by Phil Steele) is probably the third best DT in the Pac-10 behind Stanford’s Udofia and UCLA’s Brian Price both of whom are 4th team All-american selections by Phil Steele. Espn’s Ted Miller says he is probably the strongest player in the country with a 530 pench press and 720 squat. They’re just measurable to gauge his strength and nothing more.

I couldn't resist...
After mulling it over for a few minutes, and admitting to myself that it is a slow work day.
I decided I would continue to explore the reason you brought up Oregon State and Arizona State.
EUREKA!
Boise State———————Oregon
Scoring Defense———-3rd————————-78th
Total Defense————-19th————————83rd
Rushing Defense——-21st————————23rd- I applaud you (sarcastically slapping hands)
Passing Defense——-34th————————112th- I laugh at you (bowl full o’ jelly style)
I see now (myopically) why you deferred to PAC10 defenses. You had to reference a team that actually had one. nevermind the 45 & 38 pointd gave up in those games…right?
September 3rd indeed.———————INDEED!

Myopia looks like this:
For the Quacks to bring down Boise State at home (which is not outside the realm of possibility…but it is sitting out there holding hands with it), the Broncos will have to help them out along the way.
I really hope that the Bronco team has this cavalier of an attitude. Of course, they won’t because they study film. We went 10-3 last year with our losses coming @’SC and @Cal. We would’ve lost to 8/10 of the pac-10 teams on the day we played you. I witnessed with my own eyes a team that came of age at the end of the Stanford game and no one could keep up with them: Arizona, @Oregon State, and Oklahoma State. Dez Bryant, Zac Robinson, Kendall Hunter and Brandon Pettigrew could not keep up with us.
Do you honestly believe that BSU was a better team than any of those three? We would’ve been obliterated by Arizona, Oregon State, or Oklahoma State with Chris Harper as our quarterback. I mean completely annihilated.
As far as the game this year: I for one will not predict anything until both teams end Fall Camp and things are sorted out. However, to say that BSU just has to take care of business like it doesn’t matter what Oregon team shows up is just pure naivaté.

My Opia has dark brown hair and icy blue eyes...
(which is not outside the realm of possibility…but it is sitting out there holding hands with it)
It’s called parody or, intentional mockery. Myself, I call it a backhanded compliment. I did say it wasn’t OUTSIDE the realm of possibility.
Nor, did I predict a Boise State win so presumptiously as you implied. I simply said for Oregon to come out with a win at Bronco Stadium they would need help from the Broncos, i.e. turnovers. Which they traditionally don’t give up at home.
My opinion was neither myopic or naivate(fancy accent mark) It was, in fact, MY opinion.
I still hold it, no matter how many ridiculous displays of superiority, vicariously through past opponents, you throw at me. I have 55 days to bicker with you. And I’ll make time!
