The atomic clock actually says that we have just 75 days until the Ducks hit the blue turf (hard).
So, today we'll continue our countdown by briefly highlighting the Bronco player with the jersey number that corresponds with the number of days remaining till the opener.Sorry there isn't a more clear and concise way to explain that.
And we're off...
Ok, ok...so I missed yesterday's update. No player has been assigned #76 so I don't even really feel that bad. But, you know what? I've been doing this for 23 straight days and I got a little off course yesterday. That said, today's number has been assigned and it's to a player that is a bit too big to miss.
Faraji Wright is a 6'3" (or 6'4", depending on who you ask) 275 lb. offensive tackle from Berkeley, California. Despite the fact that Wright is coming from a hippie stronghold—he's no pacifist—he's coming off the line to knock somebody down on every play. Wright received All-Conference honors as a senior and was named to the Bay Area "Cream of the Crop" list as well. Possibly a bigger accolade for Wright was being twice being named the O-line MVP of Cal's football camp. Wright redshirted in 2008 and will have a good shot at playing time or a starting gig in 2009 as coach Huff will no doubt go back to square one with the line in Fall Camp. The O-line, as you all know, is light on upper-classmen but will return a lot of players with experience from the 2008 squad. Wright is a bit raw, but don't count him out...he'll push for PT this year. Pushing is what just O-linemen do.
