Makes me kinda miss Mumme.
I hated Hal Mumme and his snot rag with a passion, but he usually was good for stirring up the Bronco fanbase with a derogatory comment or two.
Comparatively speaking, Walker sounds like he’s very excited to be visiting a national monument or a popular tourist attraction:
“We’re just gonna prepare,” NMSU head coach DeWayne Walker said. “For me, I get a chance to see live and in color the best team in our conference. Compare where they are and where we’re trying to get to.”
Trademarks
Not too happy with the stance BSU is taking on all this. There can be 100 blue fields, but everyone will know who the original was.

But hey, they’re protecting their investment.
Boise State - The best in all the land (The "land" being Idaho, and large parts of California, Oregon, and Nevada.)

If you don’t go after violations of your trademark, even ones that seem innocuous, you might later be found to have abandoned your rights when you want to fight an infringement that is harmful. The university is just playing it safe, which in the realm of intellectual property, often means being kind of a jerk.

Totally agree
The Walt Disney Company goes after anyone that uses their trademarks full force. You must protect what is yours. Sorry if it makes you look like a jerk, but that’s the way it is.

I hope
BSU does not hamstring New Haven on this deal. They are just trying to revitalize a football program and bring a little tradition to their school. Sounds familiar.
