I sure am hopeful
to have AP back for a bowl game. That would be fantastic. I feel so bad for D Mack…

Old news LOL!
Thanks for letting us know njkroes. You rock!
I would think a fracture is better than a high ankle sprain, unless it was compound.
Signature Pending
I was thinking the same
Belexes. But maybe someone can tell me what kind of fracture can be repaired with surgery? I was confused with that one… I just don’t know enough about it, I guess. I’m all for it if we get him back for a bowl.

It might be hairline
If it is, I’m thinking they could go in and probably do an outpatient procedure and place a pin in there to stabilize it. Something like that probably wouldn’t be too invasive but could help heal the bone quicker.
If Pettis "can" be back...
he will be. Rehabbing those things is 1/4 repair and 3/4 desire.
Keep your fingers crossed that the former goes smoothly.
Maybe!
If he “can” be back, I can still see Pete using him only sparingly (unless needed). If we play Iowa in a bowl game, I really don’t think we’d need him, per se. Especially with Shoemaker back. But for sure it will be called a “game-time decision” so the other team has to prepare for him.
Someday I hope to look in a mirror and see something special... something like a coach pete protoge'.
I think you might be jumping the gun here about AP.
Did you personally talk to the doctor and look at the x-ray?

haha
And if you did look at the x-ray, why can i trust you? And did you get a 2nd opinion?

He’ll be back in the street having a thriller dance-off before we know it…..I hope

hahahahah
I love Acrey. That was a big ole blow that he and Mackey both went down, so I’ll be ‘thrilled’ to have him back. Seriously tho – how freakishly deep are we at LB?

Thank you, Nick Adenhart. You will always be remembered. #34
re: rehab
i broke my tibia a couple of years ago and had arthroscopic surgery to insert two screws into the bone just below the knee. the day after the surgery they took x-rays to make sure the fragments were positioned correctly. as i was leaving the office, i asked the doctor when i could start rehab. he asked me what i was doing for the next couple of hours. i told him i was going to lunch.
the point is that rehab can commence almost immediately after surgery. although i couldn’t put any weight on the leg for six weeks, i was strapped to an exercise bike for hours at a time in order to keep the muscles in that leg from becoming atrophic.
i imagine a collegiate athlete would have a shorter turn-around time from a similar injury and i would bet all the incentive austin needs is the possibility of playing in a bcs bowl. i sure would like to see him lead the team out of the locker room at the fiesta bowl.
