Many of his throws were low percentage passes downfield as opposed to the short screen and quick pass game that Boise State typically utilizes.
What was with that? I never want to see a 3rd and 1 long bomb again. That’s just not Boise State. We’ve ALWAYS played for the 1st down, not “it all” before. Why did they gameplan it against Utah State?

Is this the math fail?
Receiver Titus Young would have had a 100-yard game as well, if not for a penalty that wiped out an 80-yard touchdown run. Young had 102 yards receiving.
Haha! Nice one, Statesman.

Weren’t they referring to him having a 100 yd RUSHING game if the 80 yd run wasn’t wiped out?
He had 37 yds rushing so that would make sense.

Yup, that is what they were referring to.
That would have gave us 3 100 yard rushers.

Nevada running game better than Fresno State?

Maybe as a whole. No one player is from Nevada is better than Ryan Mathews though.

Put a spy (Venable, Robinson, or Iloka) on Kaep...
Give up nothing inside. Force Nevada to bounce stuff outside or make Colin throw. That is how you stop Nevada’s offense. We did it last year pretty well. The only reason they stayed in that game is because of Kellen’s 3 picks (2 of which were pick-sixes)
If Bronco Nation comes out in full force Boise State will win by 20.

The spy did work quite well last year. I was especially anxious after the 4OT game so see how it would go.
Two of those picks were tipped balls too. They had some luck with the balls landing right in their defenders arms.
As much as I despise Kaepernick, you have to give him some credit, he did make some throws last year to start to rally back. And the last series when he was airing it out to the endzone over and over I thought I was gonna puke.
I will be at the game representing full force. I cashed in my dti points and my USU ticket for a spot in the SEZ.
p.s. Watching Kaepernick lick his hands before every play makes we want to puke too.

Is anybody else getting a little nervous??
After Nevada’s horrid start to the season (blown out by ND and losses to CSU & Missouri), I thought it would be just another WAC game on 11/27.. but the Wolf Pack have turned their season around and appear to be rolling on offense (running the ball anyway). The fact that they have three 1,000 yrd rushers is ridiculous.
Is anybody else getting at least a little nervous for the game?
I’m having a hard time deciding if Nevada is worth their recent hype, if they’re terrible as indicated by the ND, CSU, & Missouri games, or if they’re somewhere in the middle (that’s my guess)?
If I remember correctly, we switched permanently to the 4-2-5 to stop spread offenses like Nevada’s?
I hope we can at least slow the running game down and force CrazyLegs to throw the ball.. I guess we’ll see what transpires. Lets hope the LBs and DBs tackle well (and especially in space).

Nevada almost lost to Utah State during their current win streak and only beat UH by 10
Their most impressive win was the 52-14 win against Fresno State a few weeks back, though Matthews got injured in that one.
Also, they put up 70 on Idaho, but gave up 45. If Idaho can put up 45 on the Wolf Pack, Boise State can do better. Our D will still be the best they’ve faced too.
I think with the WAC title on the line, our boys will be ready to go. They don’t want to lose the title and the home win streak on the same night.

I felt better about the Fresno State loss when I remembered...
That they are Fresno State and they do this every year.

Reality bites:
- If we win big, Nevada is just another WAC team. And they say they wanted style points.
- If we win close, Nevada is just another WAC team; and Boise should have won with style points.
- If we lose, Nevada is just another WAC team, and Boise never deserved their top 5 ranking.
