Bright and early Friday morning we stuck the Boise State flags on the truck and headed down to join up with the caravan.
When we got down to the stadium, I was busy making my various media appearances. ;) I can't help it if my paint job was cool!
People came out all along Broadway to cheer on the caravan. My little girl had no idea that they weren't there to wave specifically to her. I didn't tell her any differently.

Then we hit the open highway. Just outside of Mountain Home, my husband made the move to pull up alongside of the Wilson bus so that we could show off the OBNUG sign on the side of our car. Gerry loved it enough to video tape it, which obviously makes me an honorary member of the Wilson Crew, right???
We did stop to help when the awning on their RV was separated from the body by the high winds. Question I've always wanted to know the answer to - what is it with men and bungee cords?
After that incident, it was smooth sailing all the way into Utah. We ate snacks, played Nintendo and saw real live cowboys.
Then we pulled into Tremonton, where we stopped for directions and uploaded photos. Priorities!
From there, we made the drive over to Logan, which was really beautiful!
We arrived at Romney Stadium/Bronco Stadium East to find a strong contingency of fans already tailgating. Both Gerry Wilsons stopped by to have me take their photo with our truck. Of course, I snapped one for me also! Thanks for the awesome one-liner Intern! (PS - we made ESPN signs, but no luck.) Check out Kyle's HS Championship rings on his dad's fingers.
Then the fun really started! As the sun began to set over Romney Stadium/Bronco Stadium East, the tailgating began in ernest. We met lots of really fun people and lots of lurking OBNUGies. Some people even recognized me from my post! That was crazy! (Hi to the really nice woman in the awesome BSU jeans!!!!)
The buses unloaded to a really nice contingency from Bronco Nation. Note the ESPN camera crew:
Then, regardless of what was reported, the game was anything other than lackluster.
Brotz's field goal from midfield:
The run game was ON and Doug is BACK!
Our favorite cornerback saw some good facetime on national tv. I'm sure his mom was really proud, and then really scared when they cut to commercial with him lying on the ground motionless. Not going to lie - I was in tears and I was there to see him walk off the field!!! At first, we thought maybe he got knocked out but after the game he reported that his neck was sore so the team doc made him lie still. He's going to be sore, but he'll be just fine. I felt like a proud momma, and then I admonished him to call his own mom as soon as he got on the bus.
In this photo, I like to imagine that the ref is saying "Listen, I know that Billy Winn is a BEAST and that he's tearing you up, but that's NOT a penalty son!" Then in the next one, I just like to watch Billy tear it up.
The wildcat is awesome.
And the obligatory photo of Bacon, cause I know you guys love him.
